ON THE MOVE, PLAYS THAT WILL TRANSPORT YOU Comes to the 52nd Street Project This Month

The 52nd Street Project, a non-profit organization known for bringing children from the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood together with professional theater artists to produce original shows, has announced its Summer One-on-One production, “ON THE MOVE, PLAYS THAT WILL TRANSPORT YOU” from July 21 through 23, 2023 at the Five Angels Theater.

Hero Theatre Awarded Sundance Institute Arts Organization; Staged Reading Announced

Designated one of 18 U.S.-based BIPOC-led arts organizations to be awarded an Arts Organization Grant by the Sundance Institute this past week, Hero Theatre has announced casting for a staged reading of Flex that will open its 10th anniversary season at Downtown L.A.'s Inner-City Arts on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m.

The 52nd Street Project Presents SMOKE & MIRRORS: The Tricky Plays, Pt. 1

The 52nd Street Project is celebrating the creative voices of its youngest members in its first Playmaking show of 2021. SMOKE & MIRRORS: The Tricky Plays, Pt. 1 will feature the wildly imaginative work of 5 young playwrights between nine and eleven years old.

The Hot Wing King began performances on February 11 and opens on Sunday, March 1 in the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street). The production is an limited engagement through March 22, 2019.

Sheldon Best, Cecil Blutcher and More to Star in Signature Theatre's Production of THE HOT WING KING

Casting is confirmed for the Signature Theatre (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; Harold Wolpert, Executive Director) world premiere of The Hot Wing King by Katori Hall, directed by Steve H. Broadnax III. The production will play from February 11 to March 22, 2020 with opening night set for March 1 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

On Wednesday night, Ma-Yi Theater Company, in association with The Public Theater, celebrated the opening night performance of NY Times Critics Pick TEENAGE DICK at B Bar and Grill. The world premiere play by Mike Lew will now play through Sunday, July 29, 2018. (It was previously announced to close on Sunday, July 15).
