Trap Door Theatre will bring its adaptation of Stanislaw Witkiewicz's absurdist chamber piece THE PRAGMATISTS to the Nimbus Arts Center in Jersey City, directed by Zeljko Djukic.

Trap Door Theatre has announced its 2025–2026 season, featuring Green Corridors by Natalka Vorozhbyt, a new adaptation of Le Bal, a Sławomir Mrozek play festival, and three Trap Open works by emerging voices. The season runs September 2025 through June 2026.

Casting has been announced for Chicagoan Nambi E. Kelley’s adaptation of Richard Wright’s powerful introspection on race and justice like never before. Native Son runs at Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood Ave. in Rogers Park, from May 10 – June 30, 2024.

The Vaclav Havel Library Foundation and Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association will present the 2023 Rehearsal for Truth Theater Festival honoring playwright and human rights activist Vaclav Havel. From June 2 to June 14, the Bohemian National Hall will feature award-winning performances from the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and the US.

Resident Director Max Truax returns to Trap Door to direct another Heiner Müller piece, after his triumphant production of Hamletmachine, which “calculated chaos and mastered madness with purpose, conviction, theatrical artistry, and artistic integrity.”

Director Nicole Wiesner brings her signature Trap Door style to adapt and direct this obscure Mrożek farce. One of Poland's most celebrated playwrights, Sławomir Mrożek wrote this absurdist piece as a subtle critique of the political system of the time.

Trap Door Theatre will continue its 28th season with Dinner With Marx. Directed by Kasey Foster, Dinner With Marx will run Virtually beginning on Friday, October 8th.

With an international cast of 12 artists from around the globe, Trap Door Theatre presents a collection of musical videos inspired by the poetry of Romanian playwright, Matei Visniec.

Invictus Theatre Company has announced the cast and production team for the second production of its first full season - the seminal American drama, A RAISIN IN THE SUN, by Lorraine Hansberry.
