GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, announced today that it will honor Emmy Award-winning host, producer, and author Andy Cohen with the Vito Russo Award at the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York City on May 4, 2019.  The award will be presented by Cohen's longtime friend and LGBTQ ally Sarah Jessica Parker. They join previously announced honoree Madonna, who will become the first woman ever to receive GLAAD's Advocate for Change Award. Cast members from FX's “Pose,” Samantha Bee and CNN journalist Don Lemon will also appear at the New York event.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the cult classic film Cruel Intentions, producers have announced the casting for the North American tour of the Off-Broadway smash hit Cruel Intentions: The 90s Musical.  Following sold-out runs in Los Angeles and a critically acclaimed, sold-out run in New York City, the new musical - a stage adaptation of Roger Kumble's 1999 cult-hit film, created by Jordan Ross, Lindsey Rosin & Roger Kumble - will launch its first national tour at Proctors in Schenectady, NY on March 29, 2019.

Uptown Players is proud to present the hilarious musical Disaster! This side-splitting musical celebrates the era of bell-bottoms, platform shoes and the hustle. The Groundlings are kicking off the new year with a blast from the past with two new shows to get aroused and excited about. The Goundlings Sunday Company's latest show, "Boogie Sundays," will be brimming with stellar new talent from the top level of the Groundlings School. The show will run every Sunday from now until April 27th and tickets are $16.

The Inaugural Palm Springs International Comedy Festival www.palmspringscomedyfest.com held in November has announced its winners. Participants competed from all over the world in stand up and film categories, representing Japan, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, Netherlands, China, France, Canada, the U.S. and more. The event took place over two days on Nov 17 and 18, 2018 at Hotel Zoso that kicked off with a star-studded red carpet celebrity dinner gala on Nov 10, where Kathy Griffin was presented with the 'PSICF Comedian of the Year Award.' Actress Illeana Douglas was awarded the 'Pioneer in Comedy Award,' while the comedy of summer 2018, Paramount's 'Book Club' directed by Bill Holderman and produced by Holderman and Erin Simms and starring Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Diane Keaton and Mary Steenburgen, received the prestigious 'Stanley Kramer Mad World Comedy Award.'

This holiday season the always merry Groundlings are spreading cheer once again with their latest and greatest Groundlings Holiday Show! Yule surely be laughing all night long with these holly, jolly original sketches. As a very special gift to audiences, the final two weekends of the show are dubbed the Groundlings Holiday Show: Improv Edition, featuring a stellar cast of current Groundlings, Alumni and Special Guests performing the most festive improv show of the season.
