After an extensive international search guided by Arts Consulting Group, the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (DPAA) introduced the next Ballet Artistic Director, Brandon Ragland, at a press conference held today from the lobby of the historic Victoria Theatre.

Tickets to the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning revival touring production of A SOLDIER'S PLAY from Roundabout Theatre Company go on sale tomorrow, September 16, 2022 for the Dayton engagement February 14-19, 2023, at the Victoria Theatre. The engagement is co-presented by The Human Race Theatre Company and Dayton Live.

The Human Race Theatre Company Board of Trustees, the Artistic Director Search Committee and Executive Director, Kappy Kilburn, announces the appointment of Emily N. Wells as The Human Race’s next Artistic Director. The Search Committee, comprised of artists, community leaders, Board members and Human Race staff voted unanimously to appoint Wells after a thorough nationwide search that began last summer. 

The Human Race Theatre Company announces that Artistic Director, Kevin Moore, will retire from the company that he helped to found in June, 2022 – at the end of his 36th year in leadership at Dayton's premier professional theatre company.

The Human Race Theatre Company is continuing its 2019-2020 'Women of Influence Season' with the Dayton premiere of Gloria: A Life, a new play celebrating the life and legacy of one of the most important figures of America's feminist movement.

The Directors Lab West Steering Committee is pleased to announce the 21st annual Directors Lab West, once again in partnership with the Pasadena Playhouse, Artistic Director Danny Feldman, and Boston Court Pasadena, Artistic Director Jessica Kubzansky, both contributing to host this eight-day theater intensive conference.

"This may be the first time in our 33 years," stated Human Race Artistic Director and Founding Member Kevin Moore, "that we selected a season theme before we selected our shows." And for good reason. The 2019-20 Human Race Theatre season at the Loft Theatre coincides with the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, the first step in all women having the right to vote and the catalyst for our movements for Equality.

The Human Race Theatre Company is proud to announce the addition of a new Executive Director to their staff. Katherine "Kappy" Kilburn will join HRTC October 9.

The 6th Annual Shakespeare's Birthday Sonnet Slam will be held on Friday, April 22nd from 1-4pm at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. Free for the public to attend, the Sonnet Slam features 154 readers of all ages performing all 154 of Shakespeare's Sonnets in numerical order.

Anastasia Coon presents the full-length Los Angeles premiere of her solo show Gracie and Rose. Los Angeles Writer's Center Director Che'Rae Adams directs the limited run of the full work in development, now through June 28 at Art of Acting LA during the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
