Second Thought Theater Opens 2020 Season With MLIMA'S TALE

Second Thought Theatre begins its sixteenth season with the area premiere of Mlima's Tale by Lynn Nottage. Tiana Kaye Blair makes her STT directing debut with this year's season opener. Mlima's Tale begins with previews on Wednesday, February 19 and runs through Saturday, March 14. All performances of Mlima's Tale will take place at Bryant Hall on the Kalita Humphreys Campus, 3400 Blackburn Street. Tickets to Mlima's Tale can be purchased online at secondthoughttheatre.com.

Dallas Theater Center Presents LITTLE WOMEN

Dallas Theater Center presents an adaptation of the timeless literary classic, Little Women, at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. A fresh spin on the familiar tale, Little Women begins with a Pay What You Can performance on Feb. 7 and continues through March 1. Little Women is produced in association with The Old Globe, where it will continue in March.

Second Thought Theatre announced today details for this year's State of Mind, an event celebrating Second Thought Theatre's mission and garnering future support for the award-winning theatre company. Uptown Players Announces Special Gay History Month Programming

Uptown Players, a professional theater group located in the Uptown area of Dallas, has announced special programming to run during Gay History Month on the Bryant Hall stage on the Kalita Humphreys Theater campus. From October 18 through October 28, 2019, Uptown Players will present two plays with themes that focus on LGBTQ History.

STT Announces 2020 Season And Leadership Changes

Second Thought Theatre Closes 15th Season With World Premiere of WHAT WE WERE

Second Thought Theatre closes their 2019 season with the world premiere of What We Were by acclaimed local playwright Blake Hackler. This is the third world premiere of Hackler's plays presented by Second Thought, following successful runs in previous seasons of The Necessities and Enemies/People. It also marks the first co-production for the company with another theatre. Directed by STT Artistic Associate Christie Vela, What We Were tells the story of three sisters who suffered a childhood of abuse. Weaving scenes from the past and present, the play explores responsibility, what we do to cope, and the very difficult work of healing. What We Were begins with previews on Wednesday, August 28 and runs through Saturday, September 21. Performances of What We Were will take place at Bryant Hall on the Kalita Humphreys Campus; 3400 Blackburn Avenue before transferring to Circle Theatre in Fort Worth. Uptown Players Announces 2019-2020 Season Lineup - FUN HOME, HEAD OVER HEELS, and More!

Uptown Players, a professional theater group located in the Uptown area of Dallas, has announced its 2019-2020 season at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. The season will feature the regional premieres of the 2015 Tony Award winning musical, Fun Home, the 2019 Outer Critics Circle and Drama League nominated musical, Head Over Heels, and a new twist on the Nunsense holiday special, Nuncrackers. In addition, the season will include the 2017 Tony Award nominated play, Six Degrees of Separation. Uptown Players will also present two bonus add-on shows to its season lineup: the world premiere of the latest play (based on the hit film) from Del Shores, A Very Sordid Wedding and Uptown Players' annual fundraising production, Broadway Our Way.

Uptown Players presents Regional Premiere of THE VIEW UPSTAIRS

Uptown Players continues its 2018-2019 season with the regional premiere of The View Upstairs, by Max Vernon, running June 21 - July 7, 2019. The all-star cast assembled for this 2017 off-broadway hit includes the return to the Kalita Humphreys Theater of Blake McIver and New York Cabaret Singer, William Blake.

STT Announces Double Feature By Caryl Churchill

As the third offering in its 2019 season, Second Thought Theatre will present a double feature of the rarely produced Caryl Churchill plays Drunk Enough to Say I love You? and Here We Go. STT Artistic Director Alex Organ directs both plays. Returning to the STT stage as part of the dual-cast ensemble are Brandon Potter (Straight White Men) Jenny Ledel (Revolt. She said. Revolt again., Empathitrax, Grounded), and Blake Hackle. Joining these alum in their STT debuts are local luminaries Kieran Connolly (Dallas Theatre Center Diane and Hal Brierley Acting Company member) and Rhonda Boutte (Kitchen Dog Theater company member). Presenting both plays each evening as a single offering, the Caryl Churchill double feature begins with previews on Wednesday, June 5 and runs through Saturday, June 29. STT Announces Regional Premiere of LELA & CO. by Cordelia Lynn

Second Thought Theatre continues its 2019 season with the area premiere of Lela & Co. by Cordelia Lynn. STT alum Natalie Young (The Great God Pan, Bull, Red Light Winter) is Lela, a woman recounting the unspeakable horrors she faced in the middle of a war zone. Garret Storms (Martyr) portrays the series of men who interrupt Lela's story, and her life, as they use and abuse her for their own profit.

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award recipient Dallas Theater Center announces titles for the 2019-2020 season, including In the Heights,  Lin-Manuel Miranda's family-favorite musical; ANN, a no-holds-barred portrait of Ann Richards, the legendary governor of Texas; Little Women, a celebrated new adaptation by Kate Hamill of the beloved classic book; American Mariachi, the feel-good comedy filled with infectious music; Pipeline, a powerful drama about the state of American education; and The Supreme Leader, a world premiere fictionalized coming-of-age comedy about Kim Jong-Un. Talk Back Announced At Uptown Players DISASTER!

Uptown Players is proud to present the hilarious musical Disaster! This side-splitting musical celebrates the era of bell-bottoms, platform shoes and the hustle.
