HBO/HBO Max earned the most nominations for a single network or platform this year, marking the 20th time in history that the HBO brand has received the most Primetime Emmy® nominations of any network/platform in a single year. This bests HBO’s previous record of 137 nominations in 2019.

Downs, Poppy Liu, Rose Abdoo, Mark Indelicato, Meg Stalter, Angela E. Gibbs, Luenell, Johnny Sibilly, Joe Mande, Ally Maki and Lorenza Izzo also star.

Jean Smart, Emmy, SAG Awards and Critics Choice Awards winner for her performance in season one of the series, will return along with Hannah Einbinder, Carl Clemons-Hopkins and Jane Adams. Laurie Metclafe, Christopher McDonald, Kaitlin Olson, Paul W. Downs, Poppy Liu, Rose Abdoo, Mark Indelicato, Meg Stalter, and Angela E. Gibbs will also appear.

“Cutthroat” was released March 12 via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope. A propulsive, punk-leaning anthem about killing the critic inside of you, vocalist Dan Reynolds has called the song “an exorcism of self-pity.” The band recorded the song with producer Rick Rubin at his Shangri-La studio in Malibu. 

The series is created and showrun by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky.

Cassie (Rosemarie DeWitt, La La Land) is a real estate agent and single mom struggling to keep it all together during the housing crisis of 2009. Her problems go from bad to worse when disgruntled client Sonny (Danny McBride, Pineapple Express) violently confronts Cassie's boss and then kidnaps Cassie – making one outrageously bad, and bloody, decision after another. Things completely spiral out of control in this explosive action comedy, also starring Luke Wilson (Idiocracy), Kaitlin Olson (“It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia”), David Alan Grier (“The Carmichael Show”) and Elizabeth Gillies (“Dynasty”).

Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day have teamed up for a straight-to-series comedy for Apple, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
