Following its breakout first season and early second season renewal, Apple TV+ has renewed 'Ted Lasso' for a third season.

During the UEFA Champions League final, which took place last night, (Sunday, August 23), Coach Ted Lasso, Jason Sudeikis’ titular character in Apple TV’s critically acclaimed, global hit original comedy series of the same name, “Ted Lasso,” called legendary football Manager José Mourinho seeking advice as he starts his new role leading the (fictional) Premier League club AFC Richmond. Mourinho, known widely as “The Special One,” reluctantly took a few minutes out of his evening to give Lasso, a Division II college football coach who has never coached a soccer game in his life, a few pointers which he graciously accepted (and desperately needed).

Apple today released the official trailer for “Ted Lasso,” a new original comedy series from Jason Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence, that will premiere globally with the first three episodes on Apple TV+ on Friday, August 14.

The track marks the first new material from the group — Chase Simpson [vocals, guitar], Josh Jove [guitar, vocals], and Sebastian Harris [drums] — since 2017 and heralds the arrival of their forthcoming sophomore album set for release September 20 via Warner Records. On Wednesday, SiriusXM Alt Nation premiered the song and kickstarted excitement for its official release today. Representing another evolution for the band, “You're Different” hinges on fuzzed-out riffing and a sharp beat before unfurling towards an instantly hummable refrain and synth-sounding iridescent guitar solo.

The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today unveiled its feature film lineup. Continuing its tradition of elevating exceptional storytelling rooted in today's global film communities, the 18th annual Festival will showcase debut works from emerging talent and new works from notable filmmakers. The program includes discoveries, comedies, music-centered, political and social films. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 24 - May 5.

Based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast with over 30 million downloads from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard, the series tells the cautionary tale of how a whirlwind romance between Debra Newell (Britton) and the charismatic con-man John Meehan (Bana) spiraled into a frightening web of deception, denial and mental terror that nearly tore a family apart. Created by Alexandra Cunningham and directed by Jeffrey Reiner, the eight hour-long episodes are produced by Universal Cable Productions (UCP), in association with Los Angeles Times Studios and Atlas Entertainment. 

Julia Garner ('Ozark') and Juno Temple ('Vinyl,' 'Wonder Wheel,' 'Black Mass') have joined the cast of Bravo Media's 'Dirty John' as the daughters of Debra Newell (Connie Britton), who are both skeptical about their mother's relationship with John Meehan (Eric Bana). Joining the previously announced Jean Smart who will play Debra's mother Arlane, Garner will star as Terra Newell, while Temple will star as Veronica Newell. The scripted anthology series, based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast of the same name from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard, tells the true story of how Debra's romance with the charismatic John Meehan spiraled into secrets, denial and manipulation.

Production has begun on “Maleficent II,” a sequel to the 2014 global box office hit “Maleficent,” at Pinewood Studios and on locations throughout the U.K.. Oscar® and three-time Golden Globe® winner Angelina Jolie (“Girl, Interrupted,” “Wanted”) and Elle Fanning (“The Beguiled,” “Super 8”) reprise their roles as the dark fairy Maleficent and Princess Aurora, respectively, two characters from the studio's animated classic “Sleeping Beauty,” whose untold story was brought to life on screen in “Maleficent.”

Josh Radnor stops by The Today Show to discuss his role in the new NBC musical series RISE. In the new musical drama series “Rise,” Josh Radnor portrays an inspirational high school theater director. He tells TODAY's Hoda Kotb that he was “thrilled” to learn that Rosie Perez would co-star with him: “She's really fun to fake-fight with, but I wouldn't recommend a real fight with her.”
