Milford Arts Council & Pantochino to Launch NITE SPOT NIGHTS Series, 9/12

Milford Arts Council, in association with Pantochino Productions Inc. has announced a new entertainment series, Nite Spot Nights, debuting this Fall at the Center for the Arts on Railroad Avenue in Downtown Milford.

Whether she is lending her luminescent soprano to Broadway melodies, keenly reinterpreting contemporary folk and rock songs, or crooning jazz favorites in her warm alto range, singer Julie Benko possesses the rare vocal dexterity of range and genre that defines a true musical chameleon. Known for her sparkling tone, buttery phrasing, and adept storytelling, this longtime member of New York City's theatrical community momentarily steps off the Broadway stage (where she regularly appears in Les Miserables) and launches into the jazz world, bringing her unique fusion of melodic expressiveness and introspective clarity to the Cornelia Street Cafe on Sunday, August 2nd at 8:30 PM.

North Carolina Theatre is taking on an iconic work of musical theater with their current staging of LES MISERABLES. Such a piece is quite a feat to put on, and to do it well is a great undertaking, but NC Theatre manages to accomplish something spectacular by combining the best talent of the Triangle with amazing New York actors. The result is a production which does justice to the cultural monolith which is Les Mis. It's a perfect production for die-hard fans and first-timers alike.
