Emmy Award-winning executive producers Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Mark Herzog bring The Movies to CNN on Sunday, July 7, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The new six-part CNN Original Series explores American cinema through the decades and the cultural, societal and political shifts that framed its evolution. Combining archival footage and interviews with leading actors, directors, producers, critics and historians, the series showcases the most pivotal moments in film that have stirred the imagination and influenced our culture.

The centerpiece of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's Lincoln Center engagement is The Ailey Spirit Gala on Thursday, June 13th. The event launches the 50th Anniversary celebration of The Ailey School, which has served as a springboard for many notable artists, including more than 70% of the dancers in the Company. The evening's Honorary Chair is award-winning actress Lorraine Toussaint, who currently stars in NBC's The Village, Netflix's She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, AMC's Into the Badlands, and the recently released supernatural thriller Fast Color. She will also star in the upcoming films Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark and The Glorias, where she will portray the iconic feminist and civil right activist Flo Kennedy opposite Julianne Moore. Toussaint is the parent of a student at The Ailey School.

In 1995, a group of writers, directors and actors gathered on Manhattan's Lower East Side for what was supposed to be a one-time only event: write, direct, produce and perform new plays within the span of 24 hours. Apple has given an eight episode, straight-to-series order for an adaptation of Stephen King's 2006 horror-romance best-seller Lisey's Story, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Oscar winner Julianne Moore will star in the series. King will write all eight episodes, with Abrams producing.

Santa Cruz County Actors' Theatre continues its 2019 season with the full-length staged production of Jane Anderson's LOOKING FOR NORMAL, directed by Tandy Beal. The play opens April 12 and runs through April 28 at the Center Stage Theater in downtown Santa Cruz.

Musical Theatre of Anthem (MTA) announces their 2019 summer camps, productions, and workshops for performers ages 3-adult, including Freckleface Strawberry, the very popular Summer Performing Arts Institute (SPAI), and two productions soon to be announced at MTA's annual benefit on March 8th. Participants will learn from award-winning, experienced directors, vocal directors and choreographers, many of whom will also be directing shows for the upcoming season.  "MTA offers something for youth of all ages and experience this summer, from a full-scale musical production to intensive workshops and minis program," said Jackie Hammond, MTA's Producing Artistic Director.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra returns to Carnegie Hall this March for two back-to-back programs in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. In an all-Richard Strauss program on Tuesday, March 19 at 8:00 p.m., music director and conductor Andris Nelsons and the BSO are joined by world-renowned soprano Renee Fleming for the closing scene in the composer's final opera, Capriccio, on a program also including the Sextet and Moonlight Music from that opera, as well as the tone poem Also sprach Zarathustra.

City Harvest, New York City's largest food rescue organization, announced today that Chrissy Teigen, TV host, model, and bestselling author, and Antoni Porowski, Emmy Award-winning TV personality, actor, food expert, author and restaurateur, will co-host City Harvest: The 2019 Gala, on April 30.
