Paper Mill Playhouse and the company of Chasing Rainbows: The Road to Oz support a?oeSpirit Day 2019a?? in the attached image. This year's Spirit Day (Thursday, October 17) is a means of speaking out against LGBTQ bullying and standing with LGBTQ youth, who disproportionately face bullying and harassment because of their identities. Pledging to 'go purple' on Spirit Day is a way for everyone to visibly show solidarity with LGBTQ youth and to take part in the largest, most visible anti-bullying campaign in the world.

On Friday, September 20th, fan-favorite jazz vocalist John Minnock presented an encore performance at Feinstein's/54 Below. Once again, Minnock was joined by NEA Jazz Master saxophonist Dave Liebman and his stellar band consisting of pianist Enrique Haneine, bassist Carlos Mena and drummer Pablo Eluchans. Feinstein's/54 Below was filled to the brim with an attentive and energetic audience who raucously applauded after every song.

In a combined triumph for the Classic Popular Songbook, its purveyors and adherents, and the professionalism and perseverance of THE MABEL MERCER FOUNDATION, the unique organization presents its 30th Annual New York Cabaret Convention at The Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center, beginning Monday, October 28th and running through Thursday, October 31st. The four individual concerts will be offered at 6:00 PM each evening, and more than seventy-five vocalists and musicians are scheduled to perform. American industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie and Louise Whitfield were married on April 22, 1887 in a quiet ceremony attended by a small number of family and friends. Two brand new musical theatre shows are being premiered at Liverpool's Epstein Theatre this weekend.

Justin Sayre's camp-horror-soap-opera, twelve-episode serial RAVENSWOOD MANOR will take the Celebration Theatre stage beginning October 17, 2019 for a six-week run. Novelist/playwright/TV scripter/performer/host Justin took some time to answer a few of my questioning queries on his various functions as novelist/playwright/TV scripter/performer/host.

In this episode, Ben and Daniel talk to Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award-winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz about Judy Collins' 1967 album 'Wildflowers.' They also discuss Joni Mitchell, Laura Nyro, The Supremes, 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf,' Motown, 'Bye Bye Birdie,' and Leonard Cohen. Stephen talks about the conception and creation of a number of his works, including 'Wicked,' 'Godspell,' 'Pippin,' 'The Baker's Wife,' 'Working,' 'Rags,' and 'The Prince of Egypt.' He tells stories about working with artists such as Howard Ashman, Charles Strouse, Steven Spielberg, and Whitney Houston, and talks about collaborating with Alan Menken, with whom he wrote the songs for the hit Disney films 'Pocahontas,' 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame,' and 'Enchanted.'

After taking over the tinsel in last season's A Christmas to Forget, Aaron Blanck is back with many of his holiday friends to dismantle everyone's favorite pagan celebration.  In Aaron Blanck's Trick or Treat-quel, all the characters you sort of remember and kind of love have reassembled to bring you a spooky, musical, never-ending nightmare for all ages!

Porchlight Music Theatre announces the next production in its 25th Anniversary season: the New Faces Sing Broadway series. New Faces Sing Broadway 1956, hosted by Angela Ingersoll, directed by Brianna Borger and music directed by Chuck Larkin, returns to Evanston at SPACE, 1245 Chicago Ave. Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. and to The Arts Club of Chicago, 201 E. Stage and screen favorite Kristin Chenoweth is getting ready to return to Broadway this fall in a live concert celebrating the release of her new album FOR THE GIRLS. Kristin has Broadway plans beyond this next show, however. When asked on Variety's Stagecraft podcast about the idea of writing a musical, Chenoweth responded: 'I think about it a lot. I want someone to collaborate with me on a story I have, and it would be for Broadway.'
