The Plano Symphony Orchestra is celebrating the grand prize winners of the Collin County Young Artist Competition when the three young musicians, Reina Shim, Steven Lu, and Ella Tran, open the March 19 concert performing their winning concertos.

Back by popular demand – from its world-premiere run during the summer of 2017 – Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe will present “Broadway in Black,” updated for 2022. In this musical revue created and adapted by WBTT Founder and Artistic Director Nate Jacobs, WBTT will salute Broadway musicals with songs that span decades and a wide variety of musical styles that will appeal to audiences of all ages.

Joe Landini Dance presents the world premiere of City of Ghosts at ODC Theatre March 18, 19 and 20, 2022. This new work by Joe Landini features additional choreography by his collaborator, Amy Lewis. 

This is one of the better productions of this play that I have reviewed.

In March, New Conservatory Theatre Center will produce critically-acclaimed playwright Colman Domingo's Dot. Full of love, laughter, and absolute chaos, this moving and hilarious play offers a look at a woman losing herself in the past and the family trying to keep her in the present.

In the Baptist backwoods of the Bible Belt, the beleaguered Turpin family proves that living and dying in the South are seldom tidy and always hilarious. Despite their earnest efforts to pull themselves together for their father’s funeral, the Turpins’ other problems keep overshadowing the solemn occasion. Recently released from Take The Cakeable Records, ONCE UPON A TIME STEP (Songs from the Ron Lytle Musical Fairy Tales) is a fun exercise in family-friendly, schmaltzy showtunes. There’s not a single track on the album that really sticks with you, but I imagine anyone who programs children’s theater who gives ONCE UPON A TIME STEP a listen will be reaching out to Lylte to license a show or two.
