In their promotional materials for NEXT TO NORMAL, Mac-Haydn, advised it would be “unlike anything you have seen on our stage. Trust us when we tell you, this show is not to be missed.” I am very happy to say they were correct. This production is phenomenal.

The Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical 'Next to Normal' will make its Mac-Haydn debut from August 4-14 - a regional premiere production. 'Next to Normal' promises to be an artistic highlight of the 2022 Mac-Haydn season, and is unlike anything audiences have ever seen on the Chatham stage.

'Urinetown' makes its debut at the Mac-Haydn Theatre, running July 7-17. Planned for the Mac-Haydn's 2020 season (but postponed due to COVID), the production is two years in the making.

The Berkshire Theatre Critics Association has announced the nominees for the 5th Berkshire Theatre Awards, known colloquially as The Berkies.

The 2020 season opened with one of my personal favorites, PIPPIN.  It was the first Broadway show I saw. PIPPIN uses the premise of a performance troupe, led by the Leading Player, to tell the story of a young prince (son of Charlemagne) on his search for meaning and significance. 

Newcomer Xander James makes his Mac-Haydn debut as Georg Nowack after a ten-year hiatus from live theatre. James currently works as a professional musician based in New York City, and his previous stage credits include Henry in Next to Normal, Chip in ...Spelling Bee, and Jud in Oklahoma.

The Mac-Haydn Theatre kicks off its magical 2021 return season with the Stephen Schwartz musical, Pippin, opening July 29.

The Mac-Haydn Theatre will reopen its doors for live performances on July 29 after more than a year of closure, bringing the summer theatre it's known for back to Chatham, NY. Audience members and staff will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Pleasant Valley Productions in collaboration with the Mac-Haydn Theatre will present a developmental production of David Maglione's newest musical work, The Most Incredible Thing. This project is a commissioned piece for the Children's Theater season at the Mac-Haydn Theatre, located in Chatham, New York.

Pleasant Valley Productions has announced the season line up, with performances beginning May 22nd, 2021. The Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center, located at 4 Boland Drive, in West Orange, New Jersey, is a beautiful outdoor amphitheater, perfect for a safe night out for the entire family.

The Mac-Haydn Theatre announced the postponement of its 2020 season and launches a major fund-raising initiative, the Bright Future Fund. The fund will allow the theatre to continue its operations in the absence of ticket sales through 2020 to produce shows again in May 2021.

The Mac-Haydn Theatre took home five Berkshire Theatre Critics Awards at the fourth annual ceremony held on Monday, November 11th, including the highly regarded Outstanding Production of a Musical award for their 2019 production of Ragtime. The theatre was thrilled to receive this recognition as well as two other awards for one of the most ambitious productions in Mac-Haydn history.

At an SRO ceremony held at Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsfield, the Board of the Berkshire Theatre Critics Association (BTCA) presented the Berkshire Theatre Awards on the evening of Monday, November 11, 2019. This was the fourth year the awards have been presented to honor and celebrate the excellence and diversity of theatre in the greater Berkshire region.
