Just last night, Patti LuPone stepped back into the role that led to her Olivier Award, and being cast as the original Fantine in LES MISERABLES, in The Cradle Will Rock at 7pm at Broadway's Bernard Jacobs Theatre, 242 West 45th Street. The one-night concert of Marc Blitzstein's iconic work benefits The Acting Company, which LuPone founded alongside Kevin Kline, John Houseman and Margot Harley. Tony Winner Jack O'Brien to Visit Ten Chimneys for Q&A, 6/21

On Saturday, June 21st, Ten Chimneys Foundation will welcome renowned Broadway director Mr. Jack O'Brien for a very special Conversation at Ten Chimneys. Mr. O'Brien will delight the audience with stories about his prolific life in the theatre. Mr. O'Brien's work can be seen in The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of Much Ado About Nothing, which runs June 3rd through July 6th in Central Park. Just announced, he will be directing Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane in a new version of Terrence McNally's It's Only A Play, opening on Broadway in September, 2014.

SDCF Now Accepting Nominations for 2014 Zelda Fichandler Award

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) opens the nomination process for The Zelda Fichandler Award on May 14, 2014. This award presents an unrestricted grant of $5000 to an outstanding director or choreographer making an exceptional contribution to the national arts landscape through theatre work in a region. In 2014, the award will honor achievement in the Eastern region, comprised of Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C., West Virginia.

Deborah Hedwall, Patricia Hodges & More to Star in Peccadillo Theater's A LOSS OF ROSES; Cast Announced

The OBIE, Lucille Lortel and Drama Desk Award-winning Peccadillo Theater Company, in association with La Femme Theatre Productions, has announced the full cast for the play's first NY revival as well as the New York City premiere of the published version of William Inge's A Loss of Roses. Performances begin May 8th (not May 7th as previously announced) at Theatre at St. Clement's, 423 West 46th Street, NYC, and continuing through June 7th, 2014. The play opens officially on May 12th at 7 PM.

John Skelley Stars in HAMLET and ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD at the Guthrie, Beg. Tonight

The Guthrie Theater and The Acting Company (TAC) reunite for a sixth year, presenting Hamlet, Shakespeare's story of a Danish prince's search for vengeance, justice and truth, in repertory with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, a reworking of the same tragedy from the point of view of two minor characters and their static existence in a world beyond their comprehension. This two-week engagement today, April 22 - May 4, on the McGuire Proscenium Stage, will conclude a successful seven-month 42-city tour, during which time these productions played to thousands of adults and students in large and small markets around the United States. Both Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead will showcase the talents of graduates of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program, as well as alumni of A Guthrie Experience for Actors in Training.

James Barbour to Lead LES MISERABLES at La Mirada Theatre; Opens 5/31

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment present the fifth and final production in its 2013-1014 season of shows with the Los Angeles regional theatre premiere of one of the most beloved musicals of all time, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, the Tony award-winning, LES MISERABLES, music by Claude-Michel Schonberg, book by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, with musical direction by John Glaudini, choreography by Dana Solimando and directed by Brian Kite.

Patti LuPone Performs with North Carolina Symphony Tonight

The legendary Patti LuPone will perform with the North Carolina Symphony tonight, April 11, and Saturday, April 12, at 8 p.m. in Meymandi Concert Hall in downtown Raleigh. The concerts, which will be led by Resident Conductor William Henry Curry, are part of the Symphony's 2013/14 Pops season.
