On Monday, April 9th at 8pm, your favorite musical theater characters find themselves smack in the middle of sketches in this Broadway-meets-comedy mash-up show, written by UCB and The PIT's finest and featuring actors from the casts of Fun Home, Book of Mormon, Great Comet and more.

Lyricist, bookwriter, and Broadway performer Jill Abramovitz and Tony-nominated actor Anika Larsen (Beautiful) will co-host Prospect Theater Company's upcoming Good to Go Songwriters' Showcase: a concert celebrating new works-in-process created or co-created by women writers.  This special one night event will be presented on March 10, 2018 at 8pm at The TimesCenter (242 West 41st, NYC).

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, Tony Award-winning producer, 'Hamilton' alum and 'Power' co-star Brandon Victor Dixon will star as Judas and join an already stellar cast in NBC's highly anticipated special event 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert,' to be aired Easter Sunday, April 1 from the Marcy Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, N.Y. All the world's a stage! Shaina Taub and Laurie Woolery's As You Like It, which was named one of The New York Times' best shows of 2017 after itslauded debut via The Public Theater's Public Works, is now available for worldwide licensing to professional companies from The Musical Company (TMC). The singer/songwriter's acclaimed adaptation of Twelfth Night for Public Works will also be available for worldwide licensing from TMC later this year, after its summer return to the Delacorte Theater.

Broadway's Krysta Rodriguez of the Tony Award nominated revival of Spring Awakening, joins the cast of the National Symphony Orchestra'sWest Side Story in Concert, led by Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke, February 14, 16, and 17, 2018 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Rodriguez replaces previously announced Ana Villafa e as Anita, who has withdrawn due to scheduling conflicts.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Simone Allen in The Songs of Simone Allen on January 27th, 2018 at 11:30 PM. Simone Allen (Broadway Stands Up For Freedom/NYMF's Women of Note) makes her Feinstein's/54 Below debut in The Songs of Simone Allen. Simone presents a night of original singer/songwriter material as well as songs from her current musical theater project, Underground. Her unique sound draws from jazz, pop, rock, folk, and musical theater. She has received praise for her deep and varied collection of work and her natural fantastic melodic sensibility.

The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) Pops continues the international celebration of Leonard Bernstein at 100 with West Side Story in Concert, led by Steven Reineke.

The Center for Popular Democracy will hold its New York City gala tonight to recognize those who have advanced the cause of economic and social justice over the past year, including New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito; Democracy Alliance President Gara LaMarche; Bill Samuels, Founder and Chairman of Effective NY; civil rights attorney Maya Harris; and New School Senior Vice President for Social Justice Maya Wiley.

When Sophocles' OEDIPUS REX was first performed over 400 years B.C., the Greek chorus that opened the play wore the traditional identical masks. But in Luis Alfaro's contemporary adaptation, OEDIPUS EL REY, the unifying costume piece for the Latino men who make up the choro is the orange jumpsuits worn by inmates of the California State Prison in Delano.

The Public Theater presents the New York premiere of the electrifying play, OEDIPUS EL REY in collaboration with The Sol Project as part of The Public's Astor Anniversary Season at their landmark downtown home on Lafayette Street, celebrating 50 years of new work at 425 Lafayette Street and the 50th Anniversary of HAIR. Written by Luis Alfaro and directed by Chay Yew, the show has been previously extended two weeks through Sunday, December 3, with an official press opening tonight, October 24.

The Movement Theatre Company, a Harlem-based nonprofit committed to showcasing artists of color, is partnering with INTERFEST, a free three-day arts & ideas festival hosted by the Harlem School of the Arts, to present a staged reading of WHAT TO SEND UP WHEN IT GOES DOWN written by Aleshea Harris (2016 Relentless Award Winner), directed by Mary Hodges (48Hours in Harlem). The reading will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 7:15pm at the Harlem School of the Arts Theater (645 St. Nicholas Avenue).

Those words, sung at the opening of Shaina Taub and Laurie Woolery's thoroughly enchanting musical adaptation of Shakespeare's AS YOU LIKE IT, were especially poignant at the Delacorte Theater this past weekend, where, since 2013, every Labor Day holiday has been celebrated with a production by the Public Theater's gloriously inclusive Public Works program.
