LAGUNA PLAYHOUSE has announced six special productions this summer.

PBS' NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT, America's national night of remembrance, returned live this Memorial Day from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol hosted by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantegna and Emmy Award-winner Gary Sinise. Watch the full concert here!

Multi-Grammy award winning band and Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame inductees Chicago announced today that they will be performing in Springfield at UIS Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June 17th.

Michael Butler, famed producer of the musical Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, passed peacefully November 7, 2022 at the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging in Reseda, CA.  He was born November 26, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois.

Theatre 68 is presenting the World Premiere of Diving Horses, an original full-length play written by Vinnie Nardiello. Produced by Artistic Director Ronnie Marmo, directed by Kerri Murphy and co-directed by Mark Riccadonna, October 27-29 at John Desotelle Studio Nubox Theatre.

Due to popular demand, one of the most successful and critically acclaimed rock bands of all time – Chicago – will return to The Venetian Theatre inside The Venetian Resort Las Vegas in 2023 for the sixth year in a row for a limited engagement. Director/choreographer James Fowler has moved his Open Fist Theatre Company production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream from Athens, Greece to Athens, Georgia circa 1855, where Shakespeare’s text remains intact, but casting and design land us in the world of the Antebellum South.

The first Los Angeles revival of Yasmina Reza’s Tony Award-winning comedy God of Carnage plays a limited three-week engagement at the Odyssey Theatre beginning May 13, 2022. Peter Allas directs the playwright-approved cast of Matthew Downs, Jack Esformes, Lisa LoCicero and Leilani Smith. The very busy Peter made some time to answer a few of my queries.

Theatre 68 and the Venus Cabaret Theater have announced the extension of the critically acclaimed production, “I'm Not A Comedian… I'm Lenny Bruce,” now running until Jan. 2, 2022 in Chicago. 

Grammy Award artist,  musician, composer, and singer Jose Feliciano received the prestigious Adelia Award from  the Saint Pio Foundation. The Foundation presents this award each year to individuals  whose selfless and outstanding contributions serve as extraordinary examples of providing  relief from suffering to those in need.  

Written and performed by Ronnie Marmo and directed by Joe Mantegna, the run will continue through Saturday, October 2 only. The lighting, projection, and sound design are by Matthew Richter. The show contains adult content and nudity, and the running time is 90 minutes.

Written by and starring New Jersey native (Woodbridge) RONNIE MARMO and directed by Tony Award winner JOE MANTEGNA (star of TV's CRIMINAL MINDS), the funny, powerful, provocative and moving portrait of the Legendary Lenny Bruce recently played to SRO audiences in Chicago, Off Broadway and Los Angeles among other cities.
