The next Waitress London Cast Album Karaoke Night has been confirmed for Wednesday 15 January 2020 in partnership with Encore Tickets. The event will be hosted by cast members Lucie Jones (Rent, Les Misérables, Legally Blonde) and David Hunter (Kinky Boots, Once, One Man, Two Guvnors). Audience members can sign up before the show for the chance to sing one minute of any song from Waitress live on stage at the Adelphi and accompanied by the show's musical director Katharine Woolley. Waitress, adapted from the 2007 film of the same name, tells the story of Jenna Hunterson, a pie-maker/waitress working at Joe's Pie Diner somewhere in the southern United States. Jenna (Bailey McCall) is unhappily married to Earl (Clayton Howe), who is physically and emotionally abusive. When she finds out that she is pregnant, even though she doesn't want it, Jenna vows to keep the baby and find a way out of her loveless marriage. Her co-workers, the nerdy Dawn (Gabriella Marzetta) and the no-nonsense Becky (Kennedy Salters), have their own personal issues but provide much-needed comfort and support to Jenna.

BWW Review: WAITRESS SERVES UP PIE AND PASSION at Broadway San Jose, now thru Dec. 22
It was a night of surprises at the final Waitress Cast Album Karaoke! The night was hosted by the composer and lyricist of Waitress, the multi-platinum-selling Grammy and twice Tony-nominated singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles.
The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall will present the Sarasota premiere of WAITRESS for a limited three-day engagement! The diner opens up on Friday, January 24 at 7:30 p.m. and runs through Sunday, January 26 with a total of five performances. Attendees will even have the opportunity to purchase pies at the hall while supplies last. Meet Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage. Pouring her heart into her pies, she crafts desserts that mirror her topsy-turvy life such as 'The Key (Lime) to Happiness Pie' and 'Betrayed By My Eggs Pie.' When a baking contest in a nearby county - and a satisfying encounter with someone new - show Jenna a chance at a fresh start, she must find the courage to seize it. Change is on the menu, as long as Jenna can write her own perfectly personal recipe for happiness.
Waitress the musical will welcome Evelyn Hoskins (Assassins, Spring Awakening) to the role of Dawn in the New Year while original London cast member Marisha Wallace (Dreamgirls, Aladdin) is also announced to return to the West End production. Evelyn Hoskins will join the smash hit musical comedy on 25 January following Hannah Tointon's final performance, and Marisha Wallace will resume the role of Becky on 6 January following Sandra Marvin's final performance. Monique Ashe-Palmer will also join in the ensemble from 9 January, taking on the role from Cindy Belliot.
The next Waitress London Cast Album Karaoke Night will take place on 18 December in partnership with TodayTix, the premier digital gateway to shows, arts and cultural experiences, and will be hosted by cast members Hannah Tointon (The Inbetweeners, Mr Selfridge, Hollyoaks) and Joel Montague (Falsettos, School of Rock and Funny Girl). The producers of Waitress have announced a special Q&A event following the performance on Monday, December 9th. SiriusXM host Julie James will moderate the conversation with Katharine McPhee, currently starring as Jenna, and original Broadway cast members Drew Gehling, Christopher Fitzgerald, Molly Hager and Stephanie Torns. Audience members will also have the opportunity to ask their own questions of the cast.
