Milton Keynes-based theatre company, The Play's The Thing, brings its four-day festival which celebrates inspirational women from theatre and the arts to Milton Keynes Gallery from 16th - 19th October.

'Self-Raising begins with a sack of flour. But it’s not just a sack of flour. The show begins with writer and performer, Jenny Sealey, telling us how it was originally meant to be an adaptation of Annie Fine’s Flour Babies, but quickly changed into Sealey telling her own life story. Just with a few more bags of flour.'

The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Deafinitely Theatre, in collaboration with Graeae Theatre Company, have announced the launch of a new, 5-day BSL Acting Intensive course in July 2024.

I have been the artistic director of Graeae since 1997, but I was an actor with the company in 1987. It was at the audition I realised I had finally met my tribe- a room full of deaf and disabled people who absolutely owned who they were and from that moment so did I.

Leeds Playhouse has announced a new Spring/Summer 24 Season, which will offer an all new programme of entertainment for all ages. Among the shows are a new Dolly Parton musical, as well as My Fair Lady, Paranormal Activity, and more!

Graeae's award winning artistic director Jenny Sealey will bring her acclaimed solo show Self-Raising to Soho Theatre next February before embarking on nine date national tour.  

The world premiere of SELF-RAISING, written by Mike Kenny and Jenny Sealey, performed by Jenny Sealey, and directed by Lee Lyford comes to Edinburgh Fringe in August.
