The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC), Franklin TV, and The Woonsocket Museum of Broadcast Technology will team up this week to bring a special holiday show to THE BLACK BOX. Together, they will present the world premiere of Christopher Rice's The Tappy Christmas Special: LIVE! based on Rice's viral #TAPPY video series which has been seen by more than 10 million people worldwide.

The African & African American Performing Arts Coalition and K*Star*Productionshave announced the 15th anniversary edition of the Black Choreographers Festival: Here and Now (BCF), which will take place over four consecutive weekends, February 16 March 10, in San Francisco and Oakland. Following the opening two weekends at Dance Mission Theater in San Francisco, the Festival will move to SAFEhouse Arts at 145 Eddy Street for weekend three, with a final program at Laney College Theater in Oakland, March 9 10. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

Montalvo Arts Center kicks off its annual Art on the Grounds exhibition program this summer with We the People, an evening of poetry, performance, and sound and installation art. Alluding to the quintessentially American phrase that begins the preamble to the constitution, We the People is an invitation to the Bay Area community to join poets, musicians, and visual and sound artists from around the globe to examine the timely and central theme of expanding, understanding, and reimagining the inclusive ways of being together. We the People will be presented 6pm-10pm, July 20 at Montalvo Arts Center, 15400 Montalvo Road, Saratoga. Admission is free. Montalvo Arts Center kicks off its annual Art on the Grounds exhibition this summer with an opening art festival titled United States of We. For 2018, the Art on the Grounds installations will include three newly-commissioned works by Lucas Artists Program Fellows: an innovative sonic journey of its lush and expansive grounds, a communally planted peace garden, and a large-scale art installation. The opening outdoor festival, which will be the official debut of these three works, will also include a showcase of poetry and performance. It will be held July 20. Admission is free.

Franz Welser-M st will lead concerts on three continents as part of The Cleveland Orchestra's 100th season in 2017-18, including two trips to Europe, appearances in New York City, and a return to Tokyo's Suntory Hall. Broadway star Bernadette Peters, who currently appears in the Amazon hit show Mozart in the Jungle, will host the opening-night presentation of the Mostly Mozart Festival, The Singing Heart, on Tuesday, July 25, at 8:00 pm. Ms. Peters, a three-time Tony Award winner, will introduce this program, which celebrates the sense of optimism that emerged during Mozart's time, embodied in the composer's music and that of his contemporaries. The performance also features Renee and Robert Belfer Music Director Louis Langree leading the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, pianist Kit Armstrong, the Young People's Chorus of New York City , and soloists who join together for Beethoven's rousing Choral Fantasy.
