Out Front Theatre Company has announced its 2024/25 season lineup. The company's ninth season will feature a Tony Award-winning beloved musical, a campy holiday mystery, incredible plays new to Atlanta, and the world premiere stage adaptation of a 1990's queer cult-classic film.

A musical adaptation is in the works for the 1999 gay rom-com, Trick! The film's writer Jason Schafer is working on a stage musical that is still in the early stages, with star Christian Campbell set to produce.

The New York premiere production of Los Otros, a musical in one act with book & lyrics by Tony Award nominee Ellen Fitzhugh (Grind, Paradise Found) and music by five-time Tony Award nominee Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Giant), will star Luba Mason and Caesar Samayoa.

PREMIERES NYC has announced the expansion of its bi-annual commissioning series INNER VOICES with the New York premiere production of Los Otros, a musical in one act with book & lyrics by Tony Award nominee Ellen Fitzhugh (Grind, Paradise Found) and music by five-time Tony Award nominee Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Giant). 

These recitals will be performed in Ocean Grove's historic Great Auditorium. This season's series will bring 'young rising star' organists to the stage - a new generation of organists who have never appeared in the historic auditorium before.

The Broadway Podcast network has announced that there is musical theater happening right now in New York City. During the lockdown, the World Premiere podcast production of BLEEDING LOVE, directed and edited by Harris Doran, is being recorded for a release later next month, based on a story by Jason Schafer.

On Sunday, March 13th at 4pm, Young Artists of America at Strathmore (YAA) presented the youth premiere of the new symphonic version of Children of Eden by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Pippin and The Prince of Egypt). Schwartz himself worked as a guest mentor with the YAA high school-aged students. The cast, full symphonic orchestra, and chorus will include over 350 youth from all over the DC Metro area including 250 younger artists from North Bethesda Middle School. The performance took place at The Music Center at Strathmore (5301 Tuckerman Ln, North Bethesda, MD).

Amas Musical Theatre will present three free staged readings of 'Bleeding Love, a post-apocalyptic new musical comedy', book by Jason Schafer, music by Arthur Lafrentz Bacon, lyrics by Harris Doran, directed by Michael Bush. The readings will take place tonight, October 15th at 3:00pm and 7:00pm, and Wednesday, October 16th at 1pm at The Theatre at the 14th Street Y, 314 East 14th Street.
