Adobe Theatre's Presents Their 2020 Season

Los Angeles native and Star of Broadway's Anastasia, Bridges of Madison County, Wicked and the upcoming Jagged Little Pill; DEREK KLENA returns home to the City of Angels for an intimate one night only engagement. Join Derek as he takes a look back on the roles, moments, and people that have shaped his life and career during his eight years in New York City. Audiences can expect stories from his childhood in West Covina, CA, from his early experiences on reality television, as well as backstage tales and songs from his star turns on Broadway.

It's a theater season filled with daring, colorful and memorable heroes. Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre has announced its blockbuster schedule for 2019-20. The curtain goes up on Kelsey's 46th season Sept. 12 with the beloved Rodgers & Hammerstein's musical The Sound of Music, followed by other major musicals, dramas, comedies, and shows for the entire family. Kelsey Theatre is located on MCCC's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible with free parking next to the theater. 

As the theatre community mourns the loss of the legendary producer and director Harold Prince, we're looking back at the opening night of Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway production of Prince of Broadway, which celebrated his career spanning seven decades. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the legendary theatrical producer and director Hal Prince has passed away at the age of 91. Prince, whose career spanned over seven decades, impacted the Broadway musical as we know it today, and members of the theatre community took to social media to mourn the loss and speak on the impact of the legend. Des Moines Young Artist Theatre production of a?oe13,a?? with a book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn, with music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, examines the up and down a group of students goes through as they turn 13. While this can be one of the most awkward times in a person's life, there is nothing awkward about this amazing production!

SMTC continues its Cabaret Series with Duet-ish, an evening of jazz, pop, theater and contemporary music performed by Hector Coris and Amy Faithe. Music direction and arrangements by Joni Van Rossum. With songs by Harold Arlen, Jacques Brel, The Seekers, Sara Bareilles, Jason Robert Brown and others, plus original tunes, Duet-ish is an intimate and eclectic evening of song, personal stories and soaring duets.

On Thursday, July 18th, Tony® Award winner Santino Fontana surprised the students of Broadway Artists Alliance during their exciting week of master classes and rehearsals in the heart of New York City. It's been a little over a month since Fontana took home the 2019 Tony® award for playing Michael Dorsey/Dorothy Michaels in Tootsie, but he is also well known for his roles in Cinderella, Hello, Dolly!, Billy Elliot, The Importance of Being Earnest, and for his various roles on screen in shows and movies like Frozen, Crazy-Ex Girlfriend and Fosse/Verdon. Fontana took time out of his busy show schedule to share some encouraging words with the young performers.

The Menier Chocolate Factory presents the UK premiere of the musical of Robert James Waller's bestselling novel The Bridges of Madison County in a new staging by Trevor Nunn. The production opened last night 23 July, and runs until 14 September. What did the critics think?

The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization today released the sixth music video in their YouTube Series, 'R&H Goes Pop!' The video features Ashley Park (Mean Girls, Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I), putting a contemporary spin on the classic tune 'Do-Re-Mi' from The Sound of Music.
