Interview: The Cast of SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD Share Creative Insights at Birmingham Festival Theatre

Birmingham Festival Theatre is offering the popular musical "Songs for a New World" by Tony award winning writer and composer Jason Robert Brown. His other award winning works include "The Last Five Years", "Parade", and "Bridges of Madison County".
"Songs for a New World" is not a typical (Beginning -middle and end) linear musical. It is a collection of powerful songs that examines life, love and the choices that we make. Each song holds a theme of entering into a new world. Not just actual land. But a world of personal loss, love, faith, and struggle.
"Songs for a New World" unifying gift is how it shares similarities of the human heart and mind. Early in his career, Brown had written all of these songs to be used in various projects. After several years inspiration struck and Brown combined all the songs into this musical. Great art always finds a way to blossom with creative tenacity.
I was able to speak with some the cast to get their creative insight into giving life to this popular musical. Total run time of interview 14:20.
