Another season at Des Moines Performing Arts is coming to a close, and they have saved one of the best shows of the season to close it out. 

I interviewed WICKED Broadway veteran Talia Suskauer about her leading role as Lucille Frank in the current national tour of Jason Robert Brown's PARADE — a tour staging of the 2023 Broadway revival starring Ben Platt and Michaela Diamond.

It’s fascinating. I remember the first time I was introduced to the show, and, like my mind, was blown by the device. If you read Jason Robert Brown, it's almost like he just kind of stumbled on it. I thought it would be a cool thing to do. But it's so novel.

Circle Theatre will present The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown, running August 14 to September 6, 2025, in the heart of Sundance Square. Directed by Ashley H. White+, with music direction by Cody Dry and stage management by Reagan Fitzgerald*, the production brings a fresh staging of this contemporary musical favorite, which recently completed its first Broadway run.

So I started as a dancer. At age eleven, my sister was taking classes, and she came home and was showing me moves and stuff from her solo because she was a competitive dancer, and I started picking all that stuff up.

Wicked star Ariana Grande recently took to Instagram to quell rumors that she is quitting music amid her ever-growing resume of acting roles, which also includes Meet the Parents 4 and the animated musical Oh, the Place You'll Go.

PARADE asks a lot of its audience. There are moments when a song is so rousing and well-sung, but then you realize the material is uncomfortable, and you wonder if you should cheer or stay absolutely quiet.

The eleven original songs are pleasant, reminiscent of pop / folk rock, and had my head nodding throughout. Equally as enjoyable to me as recent hits from Jason Robert Brown, Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, or Sara Bareilles.  Another thing you should know is that fuzzy is not complicated or deeply thought provoking.  “fuzzy is an invitation to sit with other people and remember together that it’s alright to feel things”.  It is a darling maybe even adorable little piece of musical theatre, you will likely be glad you had the chance to experience.

Spokane Valley Summer Theatre's regional premiere of Rodgers and Hammerstein's A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING includes over 30 of the duo's most popular songs from musical treasures like Oklahoma!, The Sound of Music, South Pacific, The King and I and Cinderella, as well as those that are lesser known.

It's a true story. It's a dramatization about a man who moves to Marietta, Georgia, and is falsely convicted of murder. It's his journey of trying to prove his innocence, while simultaneously we see and follow this love story between him and his wife, Lucille.

The Green Room 42 will present Crashing Out on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 9:30pm EDT. Producers Alison Allwine and Julie Lucido have gathered their favorite support group from coast-to-coast, for one night only, to sing their way through life's ups and downs.

William Michals will return to Olney Theatre Center, to reprise his 2018 performance as Emile de Becque along with his co-star Jessica Lauren Ball, who played Nellie Forbush, in a one-night concert version of Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific.

Last Thursday night (June 26, 2025), stage and screen stars Liz Gillies and Graham Phillips  had their celebratory opening night performance as Audrey and Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors. See photos here!
