Celebrating the little four-stringed wonder - the Ukulele - which has been captivating hearts and bringing musical joy into people's lives for over 100 years, the 2017 Los Angeles International Ukulele Festival presented by Kala Koa Entertainment, is an exciting day-long event dedicated to exploring the musical versatility of the ukulele for the experienced ukulele player, the occasional strummer, or simply the curious spectator. Taking place on Saturday, September 30 from 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center, The Festival includes workshops for all levels of playing ability to work on technique or simply learn to play, live all-star performances by some of today's most popular ukulele players (included in admission), as well as a variety of vendors and popular Hawaiian food and beverage options (for purchase). Live Nation-Hewitt Silva Awarded Hollywood Bowl Booking Deal

The partnership of Live Nation-Hewitt Silva, LLC (LN-HS Concerts LLC) has been retained by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association to be the exclusive promoter of concerts at the Hollywood Bowl outside of the Philharmonic's own summer season. The arrangement commences January 1, 2018, for a ten-year term. Andrew Hewitt and Bill Silva have jointly produced concerts at the Hollywood Bowl for the past 27 years, most recently as Andrew Hewitt & Bill Silva Presents.

August Performances Announced at Blue Note Hawaii

An eclectic lineup is featured this month at Blue Note Hawaii with an array of iconic national artists, local favorites and hilarious comedians. The Henry Kapono Artist to Artist Series continues with Jerry Santos of Olomana, followed by local greats Shawn Pimental and Lehua Kalima, one-man wonder Tavana, Kapono N??ili?ili, Brother Noland and of course the incomparable Willie K. The Blue Note Hawaii Comedy Series continues this month with Steve Byrne and Louie Anderson. National recording artist and GRAMMY Award-winning R&B icon Regina Belle kicks off the month and is book ended with a capella phenoms Take 6. More artists this month include bandoneon player JP Jofre and his Nuevo Tango Quartet, the amazing flamenco guitarist Ottmar Liebert and pop singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson. There are also two late-night shows with self-proclaimed blues road dog G Love, following his performances at the sold-out Jack Johnson concerts.

A 19th Century Musical Gangster Comes to the Stage in MACAIRE
