The Winter Park Playhouse, Central Florida's professional musical theatre, marks its 20th Anniversary with a brand-new line up of crowd-pleasing productions. Each of the six professional musicals in this new 2022-2023 series will feature audience favorites from the theatre's past, complemented with new casts, choreography and sets. 

More than 60 nominations in over two dozen categories of outstanding actors, directors, designers, choreographers, musicians, and productions were announced today by the Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA) for the 39th Elliot Norton Awards.

A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder with Music and Lyrics by Steven Lutvak and Book and Lyrics by Robert L. Freedman will find its way to the Lyric Stage Company of Boston after originally scheduled to open on May 15, 2020.

The Lyric Stage Company of Boston presents its first musical since Little Shop of Horrors in October 2019 with Jason Robert Brown’s intimate portrait of young romance in The Last Five Years. Performances begin Friday, November 12 and run through Sunday, December 12.  Press Performance is Sunday, November 14 at 3pm.

Due to its ongoing discovery of the technical needs of producing virtual theatre, and to ensure the best possible production for its audience, SpeakEasy Stage Company is delaying the streaming dates for its production of TJ LOVES SALLY 4 EVER by one week.  The show will now stream from Friday, April 30 through Thursday, May 13.

SpeakEasy Stage Company, in partnership with Boston Conservatory at Berklee, will present the New England Premiere of TJ LOVES SALLY 4 EVER by James Ijames (pronounced “I'ms”), streaming April 23 – May 6, 2021.

Wheelock Family Theatre at Boston University (WFT@BU) announces their winter production, Little Women, the Broadway Musical. Book by Allan Knee (The Man Who Created 'Peter Pan'), Music by Jason Howland, Lyrics by Mindi Dickstein (Toy Story: The Musical) and based on the classic novel by Massachusetts author Louisa May Alcott. Little Women, the Broadway Musical brings to life the beloved tale of Jo March, the trailblazing young writer who tells her family's story. Recommended for ages 7+.

With book by Zoe Bradford and Michael Hammond, and music and lyrics by Adam Brooks, PARAGON PARK: THE MUSICAL is a lovingly-crafted reflection of a moment in time that spans eight decades. There's more than enough small town politics, quirky characters, and human interest in the overstuffed book, but the music soars on the voices of an uber-talented ensemble and a 15-piece orchestra conducted by Musical Director Steve Bass.

Just in time for LGBTQ Pride Month, and on the cusp of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, SpeakEasy Stage Company presents the New England premiere of the Off-Broadway musical THE VIEW UPSTAIRS in the Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts. Inspired by a little-known historical event, Max Vernon pays tribute to '70s gay culture and the victims of the firebombing of the UpStairs Lounge in the French Quarter of New Orleans in 1973. Although 32 people perished (the deadliest assault on a gay bar prior to the 2016 shooting at the Pulse nightclub which killed 49 people), Vernon's book and score focus on the personalities of the archetypal characters, the challenges they faced in that era, and the strong ties they forged to make a life in the homosexual community.

From May 31 through June 22, 2019, SpeakEasy Stage Company will proudly present the New England Premiere production of the acclaimed Off-Broadway musical THE VIEW UPSTAIRS.

Wheelock Family Theatre at Boston University announces Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach featuring words and music by Tony, Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe Award-Winning Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, book by Timothy Allen McDonald, and based on the book by Roald Dahl. The WFT@BU production, directed by Artistic Director Emily Ranii with musical direction by Matt Stern and choreography by Juanita Pearl takes place April 12 through May 12, 2019 at 180 The Riverway, in Boston's Fenway neighborhood. The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) today announced the nominees for the 23rd Annual IRNE Awards, which honor the best of the previous year's actors, directors, choreographers, designers and companies across the full spectrum of large, mid-size and fringe theater companies. Moulin Rouge!, a new musical produced by Global Creatures, and An American in Paris, produced by the Ogunquit Playhouse, led with 12 and 11 nominations, respectively, in the Large Stage Musical Category. The Huntington Theatre led all companies with 31 nominations across seven productions, including 11 for Man in the Ring, the story of six-time world champion prizefighter Emile Griffith.

An energetic cast of nearly 40 performers and a 16-piece orchestra give the incomparable Cole Porter score of ANYTHING GOES its due. Leigh Barrett headlines as Reno Sweeney, and multiple IRNE Award-winners Elaine Grace and Dan Rodriguez direct/choreograph and music direct/conduct, respectively. The fabulous singing and dancing keep this ship afloat for its transatlantic journey.

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston continues the company's spectacular 50th Anniversary Summer Season with Anything Goes from July 5-15, 2018. The multiple Tony Award-winning musical will run for 8 performances at the Robinson Theatre, 617 Lexington St., Waltham, MA. Anything Goes is a tap-happy musical comedy following the antics of a nightclub singer, a Public Enemy, a love triangle, stowaways, and more aboard a luxury ocean liner travelling from New York to London!
