BWW Review: NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT Has a Fascinating Rhythm

It's wonderful. It's marvelous. And if Tuesday's immediate standing ovation was any indication, you will more than care for the new Gershwin musical, "Nice Work If You Can Get It," playing through Sunday at Sacramento's Music Circus.  But watch out for that demon rum. You may just end up swinging by a chandelier.

This 'Riotous political comedy' - Bay Area Reporter, takes the audience on the campaign trail with retired roller derby star turned candidate for Lt. Governor, Penelope Easter! A dark political satire that promises to be the perfect tonic for this election year's headaches, The Totalitarians will run from June 22 through July 24, 2016 with a Press Opening on Saturday, June 25 at 8pm.

Kate Simko & London Electronic Orchestra to Perform at Le Poisson Rouge, 7/14

Le Poisson Rouge invites you to the U.S. debut and album release concert for revered producer/composer Kate Simko and her innovative new project London Electronic Orchestra. Featuring a string quintet, harp, and guest vocalist Amunet Shah, the live set will showcase material off Kate Simko & LEO's recently released, self-titled album on The Vinyl Factory.  The event is curated by established New York composer Ricardo Romaneiro, who has collaborated with a myriad of composers and performers, creating thematic concerts that blur the lines between classical and electronic music. Esteemed New York composer Justin Messina will have a bespoke piece performed, and Fiction NYC's Joe Foxton will close the evening with a DJ set. Mauricio Ceppi will perform live visuals.

Tampa Repertory Theatre to Present TRUE WEST

Tampa Repertory Theatre will present Sam Shepard's bracing comedy True West at Studio 120 on the University of South Florida campus January 7 through 24, 2016. Performances are at 7:30 PM on Thursdays, 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 PM on Sundays. Studio 120 is located at 3837 USF Holly Drive, Tampa 33620, where ample free parking is available during performances. Patrons may purchase tickets at the door or from a link on TampaRep's website at http://www.tamparep.org.
