YouTube Originals just announced its next series: BookTube, and released a trailer. The aim is to be like a monthly book club, with one new episode each month featuring a different best-selling author. The idea came after they released a special this past March entitled BookTube: A Discussion with Michelle Obama (Which you can watch here). The critically-acclaimed special starred Former First Lady Michelle Obama and her best-selling novel BECOMING. She was joined by New York Times Best Selling Author John Green (The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns, Looking for Alaska) and popular booktubers Ariel Bissett, Jesse George, Jouelzy, Kat O'Keefe, and Franchesca Ramsey.

Following the critically acclaimed BookTube special, featuring Michelle Obama (Becoming), YouTube has announced BookTube, a new monthly learning series featuring the world's most renowned authors. YouTube has released the official trailer for episode one of 'BookTube' - an all-new series that launches October 17, 2019 on YouTube.com/Learning. A new episode will air the third Thursday of each month.

SHOWTIME has announced that Emmy and Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo (Selma) will play the title role in the drama series THE PRESIDENT IS MISSING. The network has ordered a pilot, which is currently in pre-production and scheduled to shoot in 2020. Academy Award® winner Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), Anthony Peckham (Invictus), Heather McQuarrie and Oyelowo will executive produce the series. Peckham is writing the adaptation. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine and Jana Winograde, Presidents of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc.

Grammy Awarda?"winning musician Lisa Loeb will make her Feinstein's at the Nikko debut for one night only on Saturday, November 9 at 7 p.m. In this intimate evening, Loeb will perform songs her fans know and lovea?"including her GenX anthem a?oeStay (I Missed You)a??a?"as well as other radio hits, favorites, and requests (tweet requests to @LisaLoeb).

2018 Grammy Award-winning recording artist Lisa Loeb will cap off her string of summer tour dates throughout the U.S. with a special must-see show at Los Angeles' Dynasty Typewriter at The Hayworth Theatre, Thursday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m.

IFC announced today that the network has partnered with Mad Decent to drop the official soundtrack for its upcoming variety sketch series Sherman's Showcase, premiering Wednesday, July 31st at 10pm ET/PT. Sherman's Showcase (Original Soundtrack), featuring full-length versions of the songs from the series, is set for digital release on August 9 via Mad Decent, the  Los Angeles-based record label founded by Thomas Wesley Pentz, better known as Diplo. The soundtrack will also be available on vinyl later this summer. 

Dave Lawrence, President & CEO of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County today announced the 2019-2020 season of the popular series CULTURE & COCKTAILS. For the 15th season in a row, from November 2019 through April 2020, five fascinating conversations will be held at The Colony Hotel's Coral Ballroom, located at 155 Hammon Avenue in Palm Beach.

"The main purpose of NAMT (National Alliance for Musical Theatre) is preservation of the art form. We are committed to keeping musical theatre moving forward and changing with the times. MSMT is a founding member of NAMT, and our decision to produce TREASURE ISLAND A MUSICAL ADVENTURE is our way of participating with new work." The speaker is Curt Dale Clark, MSMT's Artistic Director, who is part of a panel of cast members from the theatre's East Coast premiere of the new musical version of Robert Louis Stevenson's novel, which is currently wowing audiences at the Pickard Theater in Brunswick. Clark, together with actors Aaron Ramey, James Patterson, Michael Iannucci, and Gabriel Rosario spoke with BROADWAY WORLD's Carla Maria Verdino-Sullwold on July 3rd in the second of MSMT's PEEK BEHIND THE CURTAIN program at Curtis Memorial Library.
