Mrs. Doubtfire is officially in previews on Broadway!

Mrs. Doubtfire has announced a digital rush ticket policy for the Broadway production, which begins performances Monday, March 9 in advance of an official opening night on Sunday, April 5 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 W 43rd St).

The 10th Annual BROADWAY BELTS FOR PFF! honoring 12-time Tony Award-Winning Broadway producer Daryl Roth and hosted by Broadway's Julie Halston (Tootsie, You Can't Take it With You, Sex and the City) took place at the Edison Ballroom, with over 300 guests in attendance.

An annual sold-out event that is an exclusive New York musical theater experience, BROADWAY BELTS FOR PFF! featured Broadway stars performing some of their favorite songs and original pieces to benefit the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF). The benefit began as a tribute to Michael Kuchwara, Associated Press theater critic, who died suddenly of pulmonary fibrosis in 2010. Julie Halston, a founding partner of the event, is one of the PFF's leading advocates nationwide and shined as the evening's host (Her Broadway credits include Tootsie, Hairspray, Gypsy, and You Can't Take It With You).

The 10th Annual BROADWAY BELTS FOR PFF! will take place on Monday, February 24 at the Edison Ballroom. Hosted by Broadway's Julie Halston (Tootsie, You Can't Take it With You, Sex and the City) and directed by Carl Andress (The Confession of Lily Dare), this year's gala event will honor multi-award winning Broadway producer Daryl Roth. The cast and creatives of Broadway's upcoming new musical Mrs. Doubtfire came together for a special preview performance and meet and greet.

Mrs. Doubtfire, the new musical produced by multi-Tony Award winner Kevin McCollum (Avenue Q, Rent, In The Heights, Something Rotten!), based on Twentieth Century Fox Motion Picture, has announced the full cast for the Broadway production. Previews begin Monday, March 9 in advance of an official opening night on Sunday, April 5 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 W 43rd St).

Bernadette Peters (Hello Dolly, Follies, A Little Night Music), J. Harrison Ghee (Kinky Boots, upcoming Mrs. Doubtfire), Jason Gotay (Evita, upcoming Between the Lines), and Sierra Boggess (School of Rock, It Shoulda Been You), will join previously announced performers including New York Yankees legend and Latin Grammy-nominee, Bernie Williams, whose father passed away from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

MRS. DOUBTFIRE is on her way to Broadway, but first the new musical is on the hunt for an additional cast member. Telsey + Company has just announced that an open casting call will be held in NYC this Monday, February 3, for ensemble/Lydia Hillard understudy.

Everyone's favorite nanny is on her way to Broadway in Mrs. Doubtfire!

MRS. DOUBTFIRE features a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell and music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick, the Tony Award nominated team behind Something Rotten! Four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Hello, Dolly!) will direct and Lorin Latarro (Waitress) will choreograph. Ethan Popp (Tina) will serve as Music Supervisor, Arranger and Orchestrator.

There was no one like Robin Williams. Let's just state that right now. And when you think of Robin Williams, many gravitate towards his 1993 comedy smash a?oeMrs. Doubtfirea?? where he created an enduring, iconic character as a divorced father who posed as a female nanny in order to remain in the lives of his kids. No one can deny the brilliance of that performance and I will fight anyone who wants to try. Well, now we have a new musical version of a?oeMrs. Doubtfirea?? heading to Broadway and currently playing at the 5th Avenue Theatre. And while I recognize the impetus of putting Euphegenia Doubtfire up on stage, I also had serious anxiety over it. Would it just be a rehash of the same jokes? Would the music be any good? And would anyone be able to match the brilliance of Williams in the role? Well, after last night I can answer those questions with yes, but well handled, yes, to an extent, and YES, give that man a Tony. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's break it down into the three components of the show; the music, the heart, and the comedy.
