New Works Take the Stage in 2015 Ice Factory Festival at New Ohio Theatre, 6/24-8/8

Artistic Director Robert Lyons proudly presents the 22nd annual OBIE Award-winning Ice Factory Festival. Ice Factory 2015 takes place at New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City. Ice Factory 2015 will present seven new works over seven weeks, running from June 24 - August 8, 2015.
HOW TO BE A ROCK CRITIC Begins Rehearsals at the Douglas Next Week

Rehearsals begin May 26 for the world premiere production of "How to be a Rock Critic," based on the writing of Lester Bangs, the rock critic who reached iconic status in the 1970s with his passionate, intellectually honest writing. Performances at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre begin June 17 and continue through June 28, 2015, in the theatre's rehearsal space, Upstairs@KDT. Presented as part of DouglasPlus, "How to be a Rock Critic" is a co-production with South Coast Repertory.

Funding Arts Broward Supports Dave Muller's ROCK 'N' OLD Exhibition in Hollywood

Recently, the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood (ACCH) opened a musically-inspired exhibition. Rock 'n' Old, a project funded by Funding Arts Broward through a FAB/Knight New Work award, featured Los Angeles-based artist, DJ and record collector Dave Muller who created a mixed-media, site-specific installation that merges wall murals, large-scale paintings, three-dimensional works, and recorded music in the Main Gallery at the Center. The project included Muller's interactive, trademark three-day opening weekend in November, which engaged the community in a free exchange of art, music, and ideas. The exhibition will run until Sunday, January 18, 2015 -a Free Admission Day at the museum.

Museum of the Moving Image will present sixteen contemporary animated films in a new edition of its popular See It Big! series, co-programmed with the online film magazine Reverse Shot. The series, which opens November 28 and continues through December 28, 2014, includes works by renowned animation directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata of Studio Ghibli, Bill Plympton, Henry Selick, John Lasseter, and Satoshi Kon, as well as unique works by directors Wes Anderson and Richard Linklater and others.

On December 7, Hedwig and the Angry Inch composer/lyricist/co-creator Stephen Trask and punk rockers Tits of Clay (the off-stage alter ego of the band performing as the Angry Inch in the current Broadway production of the show) return to the site of the show's genesis-the world famous Don Hill's, soon to re-open as The Hills NYC-to play a special Hedwig-themed tribute to legendary booker, promoter and club owner Don Hill.
