The Dramatists Guild of America has announced further recipients for their 2022 Awards. The Awards for both 2021 and 2022 recipients will be presented at Joe’s Pub on Monday, July 25, 2022.

The College of Fellows of the American Theatre and the Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival in partnership The HB Studios, present the2022 Uta Hagen Award to Professor Yesenia Garcia Herrington from Central Texas College in Killean, Texas in recognition of her leadership as a distinguished educator and award-winning performing artist.

PRIMARY STAGES announced casting for On That Day in Amsterdam by Clarence Coo (People Sitting in Darkness) and directed by Zi Alikhan (The Boy Who Danced on Air). On That Day in Amsterdam will begin previews at 59E59’s Theater A on July 23, 2022, with opening night set for August 11 for a limited run through September 4, 2022.

signature Theatre’s SigSpace will present the first-ever installation from Quiara Alegría Hudes and Sean Ortiz’s Emancipated Stories project, designed by Yazmany Arboleda with Emmanuel Oni and featuring letter-writing sessions and pop-up performances produced in collaboration with The Fortune Society.

The film also stars Halston Sage (“Paper Towns,” “Neighbors,” “Before I Fall,” “X-Men: Dark Phoenix,” “The Last Summer”), Andrew Richardson (“The Independent,” “Killer Among Us,” “A Call to Spy”) and Emmy Award nominee Aidan Quinn (“Practical Magic,”  “Legends of the Fall,” “Elementary,” “Law& Order: SVU,” “The American Guest”).

The cast has been announced for A Medusa Thread. A partnership with NY Classical Theatre and the West Harlem Art Fund on Governors Island in Nolan Park (Building 10B) for FREE -- Saturday, June 25th at noon.

Aurora Theatre Company concludes its 30th season with the West Coast Premiere of Jaclyn Backhaus’ Wives.

​​​​​​Berkshire Theatre Group has announced casting for shows in BTG’s Late Summer 2022 Season. The full season will feature B.R.O.K.E.N code B.I.R.D switching, a world premiere play and an award recipient of the GRANTS FOR ARTS PROJECTS from the National Endowment for the Arts; Once, a Tony Award-winning musical; Songs For a New World, the first musical by a Tony Award winner; Dracula, a classic gothic tale of horrors; and Edward Albee's Seascape, a Pulitzer Prize-winning play. 

The Center for Fiction, a 200-year-old literary nonprofit that has created an immersive home for readers and writers in downtown Brooklyn, and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, will co-present Story/Teller Arts: Aleshea Harris with Nissy Aya on June 8 at 7pm ET at The Center for Fiction, 15 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217, and via livestream.

Signature Theatre’s SigSpace will reteam this June with Theatre For One to present six one-on-one, five-to-six minute theater experiences. Titled Déjà Vu (referencing a featured work by the same name), this iteration of Theatre For One revisits five selected works from the visionary and unconventional organization.

Suffolk Theater will present Academy Award winner Mercedes Ruehl and Harris Yulin starring in a production of Love Letters, written by A.R. Gurney, directed by Harris Yulin, and produced by Josh Gladstone on Saturday, July 9 at 8PM and Sunday, July 10 at 3PM.

Signature Theatre announced its 2022-2023 season—from Resident playwrights Quiara Alegría Hudes, Samuel D. Hunter, Sarah Ruhl, and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins—alongside the inauguration of Launchpad, a new residency supporting early-career playwrights that expands the organization’s singular mission of producing a body of work by each resident writer.

Ford’s Theatre has announced the Ford’s Theatre 2022-2023 season will include Horton Foote’s The Trip to Bountiful, directed by Michael Wilson and featuring Nancy Robinette, Tom Story and Kimberly Gilbert; the return of the music-filled full stage production of A Christmas Carol with Craig Wallace reprising the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, and more.

Signature Theatre has extended the world premiere of Samuel D. Hunter’s A Case for the Existence of God, directed by David Cromer (Tony Award-winner, The Band’s Visit) to May 29. The production, which opened on May 2, is running on The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 W 42nd St).

The Pulitzer Prize Board has just announced that Fat Ham has won the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Other finalists included: Selling Kabul, and Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord.
