Next month, FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club & Private Event Destination, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

Multitalented Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein’s new memoir “I Was Better Last Night” hit bookshelves on March 1st. Now, the cultural icon and legendary performer is set to bring his stories to the stage of The Ridgefield Playhouse on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 7:30pm – in his hometown event (“a small fictional town in Connecticut”).  Fierstein will be in conversation with fellow Ridgefielder and The New Yorker Magazine cartoonist Roz Chast, followed by an audience Q&A.

Mark Cortale, Producing Artistic Director of Provincetown’s Art House Theatre, has announced his largest and most ambitious lineup of music and comedy superstars for this summer’s 2022 season.

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center has announced that award-winning architect and scenic designer David Rockwell and the LAB at Rockwell Group, Rockwell Group’s experience design and technology studio, will design the Harvey Fierstein Theatre Lab.

BIRDLAND will present drag legend Coco Peru in the new show “Bitter Bothered & Beyond!” for two special performances. The first show at Birdland Jazz Club on Monday, March 21 at 7:00 PM quickly sold out, so an encore performance has been added for Tuesday, March 22 at 8:30 PM downstairs at the Birdland Theater.

Asolo Repertory Theatre has announced full casting for the world premiere of the new musical KNOXVILLE. KNOXVILLE begins previews on April 15, opens on April 23, and runs through May 11, in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

Victory Gardens Theater continues its 2021/22 Mainstage Season with the world premiere of In Every Generation, written by Ali Viterbi and directed by Devon de Mayo. This is a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere by Victory Gardens, the Olney Theatre Center (MD), and San Diego Repertory Theatre (CA). 

GMHC will honor comedian, actress, and jazz musician, Lea DeLaria with the 2022 Howard Ashman Award for her contributions to the LGBTQ+ community and the fight against the HIV and AIDS epidemic.

Wonderfilm Media announced that Hard Matter has added Frank Grillo to the cast, which includes Harvey Keitel. Justin Price is directing from a script he wrote. The film is being produced by Wonderfilm’s Jeff Bowler and Bret Saxon, alongside Latavius Powell and Justin Price of Powell and Price Productions.
