At some point while I was en route to see Let it Be Christmas, I couldn't help but laugh. Here I am, an atheist who grew up in a half-Jewish/half-Christian household, going to see an original musical based on the nativity and featuring music by the Beatles, a band featuring John Lennon who once said 'We're more popular than Jesus.' It's that contextual core, that powerful frame of reference, that drives this album, Leni Stern's 20th full-length release and her deepest foray into African music yet.
CHICKS N' GIGGLES is an improv comedy group made up of men and women, I guess the men are the 'giggles'? I was under the impression it was all women from the name, but nope, men were on the stage too. And they all worked well together.
