Burning Coal Theatre Company will present the premiere of Jerome Davis' Butterfly Wings adapted from the book Life and Death in High Places by Bruce Miller and Robin Simonton, directed by Allison Acuff. Butterfly Wings will run September 29th and 30th at 6:30 pm and October 1st at 2 pm, 2023, at the Oakwood Cemetery, located at 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27601.

After a year's hiatus, Burning Coal Theatre returns to the Oakwood Cemetery with New Plays About Old Friends … and Enemies! a series of short plays drawn from the lives of Raleighians past who now populate the beautiful grounds of this historic location.

The Greensboro Playwrights' Forum and the Cary Playwrights' Forum will present the inaugural NC Radio Play Festival. The Forums are co-producing ten 10-minute radio plays by North Carolina playwrights, releasing them online throughout the month of October. The theme for this year's festival is Halloween a?" every script has elements of fantasy, horror, or the supernatural.

FINDING NEVERLAND, the musical that made us all believe in our imagination, will be making its way to Waterbury's Palace Theater March 20 - 21.

Finding Neverland, the 2004 Academy Award-winning film starring Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet, was based on the 1998 play The Man Who Was Peter Pan by Allan Knee. In 2015, the stage version with music and lyrics by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy and book by James Graham first appeared on Broadway.

Reality is often dirty, gritty, depressing and discouraging. Such is the case with FINDING NEVERLAND, the musical written by James Graham with music and lyrics by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy. The national tour of the two-act musical takes up residency June 4-9 at the Ohio Theatre (39 E. State Street in downtown Columbus).

Burning Coal Theatre honors Historic Oakwood Cemetery's 150th Anniversary Celebration with a collection of original short plays written about those who are resting peacefully or perhaps not so peacefully there. Every spring, Burning Coal Theatre teams up with Historic Oakwood Cemetery to produce a new series of plays on the historic site and its occupants. This year, the plays feature notable figures like Sophia Partridge, Henry Seawell, Bobby Crocker, Asa Forest, William Edward Anderson, Dr. E. Burke Haywood and Jonathan Worth; commemorating the full scope of the cemetery's 150-year history.

Last night, the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop held a special performance of memorable songs created during this year's workshop at the quaint Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater in New York City. This esteemed workshop has been cultivating rising talent since 1961 and fostered some of the brilliant minds behind a variety of notable award-winning shows such as Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon, A Chorus Line, Raisin and Nine.

The non-Equity production of James Graham (Book), Gary Barlow, and Eliot Kennedy's (Music and Lyrics) 2015 Broadway musical 'Finding Neverland' is unlikely to be remembered as one of the most memorable touring productions that has graced the stages of DC this season. Yet, much like the Broadway production, the news is not all bad for the show which will play the National Theatre through March 3, 2019.

Most of us have grown up with the story of Peter Pan; the story of a young boy who can fly, who never grows up and lives in Neverland, which can be found at the second star to the right. We heard it as a bedtime story, or enjoyed seeing Walt Disney bring the story to animated life, or even, if we were lucky, got to see it performed live on stage with actors flying about the audience. It is a magical story to be sure, one that has transcended time and elicits memories of a simpler time.
