WHERE IS MY MAPLE TOWN, a play incubated by Shanghai Theatre Academy, will debut Off-Broadway in TheatreRow from August 24th through September 2nd. It tells a story of a good person in China who struggles to hold onto his principles in a society which conspires against morality at every turn. Li Yufeng, who has failed his exams despite his gifts as a scholar, gives into the temptation to cheat, which starts him down a treacherous path. This ancient Chinese drama is rich in humor, irony and social commentary, as it critiques how society changes a man into the sort of person he hates.

Disney took over Broadway in Bryant Park yesterday! During a live-streamed party in New York City, the stars of The Cast Recording Experience, including Broadway's Gianna Harris (School of Rock), Bonale Fambrini (The King And I), Diego Lucano (School of Rock) and Eli Tokash (Finding Neverland), launched The Cast Recording Experience Spring 2018 album. Gathered together at a karaoke place in Manhattan, the young artists listened to their recordings, watched the promotional music video they shot during this 3-day intensive, and had fun doing what they love the most.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the return of Broadway singer/actor Max von Essen in concert last night, July 23. Max von Essen, currently starring in the hit Broadway production of Anastasia, returned with his old fashioned, new show celebrating the best of Broadway and the American songbook. Once again, Billy Stritch was musical director for the evening, with Steve Doyle on bass, Daniel Glass on drums, and Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf on cello.
