Fairfield Center Stage, a new community theater group, will present a free outdoor musical-in-concert in downtown Fairfield this June. Featuring local artists and staff from Fairfield County, FCS's inaugural presentation will be 'The Music Man in Concert', running one weekend only, June 28-30, 2018 at Fairfield Museum Commons at 370 Beach Rd behind Old Town Hall. Featuring a local cast of 55 performers and a 12 piece onstage orchestra - this concert version of Meredith Willson's classic musical is a fantastic opportunity to experience one of the best musical comedies from the golden age of Broadway.

Time is Los Angeles-based singer songwriter, producer and multi instrumentalist Louis Cole's third album - a casual but addictive blend of quickfire, hook-laden electrofunk bullets and wistful, soft-focus balladry - and it's compelling. 'A lot of it is little thoughts, that I made into big songs... blasts of inspiration that I was lucky enough to receive,' Cole explains. 'But it all comes back to my mission to create deep feelings through music,' he says of his debut Brainfeeder outing, set for release August 10th, 2018.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Greta Gerwig will direct the feature adaptation of the Mary Louise Alcott classic Little Women for Sony's Columbia label. Saoirse Ronan and Timothee Chalamet are in talks to star, along with Meryl Streep, Emma Stone and Florence Pugh.

Love conquering prejudice is one of the powerful themes of Rodgers and Hammerstein's memorable musical SOUTH PACIFIC, the second production on Theatre in the Park's (TTIP) 2018 summer outdoor season. TTIP's most often requested musical, SOUTH PACIFIC will have seven performances at the outdoor amphitheater Today through Sunday, June 22-24 and the following Wednesday through Saturday June 27-30. Showtime for all productions is 8:30 p.m. with gates opening at 7 p.m.

The Off Broadway Alliance, an organization of Off-Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents, and marketing professionals, just presented the 8th Annual Off-Broadway Alliance Awards, honoring commercial and not-for-profit productions that opened Off-Broadway during the 2017-2018 season. The York Theatre Company in association with Documentary Arts, presents the world premiere of the new musical Lonesome Blues, based on the true story of legendary bluesman Blind Lemon Jefferson, created by Alan Govenar (Texas in Paris) and Akin Babatundé (Blind Lemon Blues), directed by Katherine Owens (How Is It That We Live or Shakey Jake + Alice), performed by Akin Babatundé with David Weiss on guitar. Performances began June 12, 2018 for a three-week limited engagement through Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2018 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Perfect Picture, a new musical inspired by the dramatic life of Norman Rockwell and his quest to paint the 4 Freedoms will play The Arkell Pavillion at the Southern Vermont Arts Center (930 SVAC Drive in Manchester, VT) July 20-21, 2018. The New York Pops and Music Director Steven Reineke returned for their fourth season at Forest Hills Stadium-the historic sporting and entertainment venue located in the Queens, New York neighborhood of Forest Hills-for a one night only performance of The Who's 'TOMMY' on Sunday, June 17 at 8:00 p.m. Presented by Q104.3 and Madison House Presents, the concert featured Roger Daltrey, joined by a band of seasoned Who players, including guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend, guitarist Frank Simes, keyboardist Loren Gold, bassist Jon Button, and drummer Scott Devours.
