In celebration of the November 11 premiere of the YouTube Originals documentary The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash, The Johnny Cash Trust and The Best Fest, in partnership with YouTube, are bringing fans the first-ever Cash Fest, an unprecedented charity concert in Nashville honoring the music of the legendary Johnny Cash. The revue-style show, taking place November 10 at the War Memorial Auditorium, will feature an all-star lineup including Drew & Ellie Holcomb, Devin Dawson, John Oates, Lucie Silvas, Wilder Woods, and more performing their favorite Johnny Cash songs. Web Summit, the “world's largest technology event” ​according to the Financial Times​, is announcing today that Kathleen Kennedy will speak in Lisbon this November. Kennedy is the producer of E.T, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones. She has also been named by Vanity Fair as “the most powerful woman in Hollywood”.

Jurassic World 3 has announced some of its returning cast members! According to Variety, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill are returning to the world of the dinosaurs in the upcoming film.

 YouTube today officially kicked off its new strategy of making its original series and specials free with ads by dropping the critically-acclaimed and fan-favorite first season of “Cobra Kai” in front of the paywall for a limited time with season 2 premiering on September 11. Previously, only the first two episodes of season 1 and the first episode of season 2 were available to sample in front of the paywall. Beginning today, fans without a YouTube Premium subscription can binge watch the entire first season of “Cobra Kai.” On Wednesday, September 11, season 2 will premiere in front of the paywall for a limited time with one episode dropping each week. “Cobra Kai” is an international smash with the first episode of season 1 boasting nearly 55 million views and the first episode of season 2 besting the season 1 premiere by 136%, making it the fastest YouTube Original to hit 20 million views in just 6 days. Production on season 3 will begin shortly. The series, produced by Sony Pictures Television, is written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg.

The new musical based on the incredible real life story of an icon to end all icons, Diana, will open on Broadway in the spring of 2020, producers Grove Entertainment (Beth Williams), Frank Marshall and The Araca Group announced today. Performances will begin on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th St.), with an official Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

DreamWorks Animation today announced Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, an animated action-adventure series, is set to debut globally on Netflix in 2020 as part of an ongoing multi-year agreement with Netflix to produce original animated kids and family programming. Set within the same timeline as the 2015 blockbuster film, Jurassic World, the Netflix original series is inspired by the multi-billion-dollar franchise from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment.

Stars of the JURASSIC WORLD films Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong reprise their roles as Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and Dr. Henry Wu, bringing their characters from the silver screen to Universal Studios Hollywood's much anticipated mega attraction, “Jurassic World—The Ride,” opening this summer.

The world premiere of world-renown magician Helder Guimarães' INVISIBLE TANGO has already begun previews at the Geffen Playhouse. A World Champion of Magic (among other titles), Helder has enlisted the directing talents of Frank Marshall and the musicality of Moby for his TANGO of storytelling and sleight-of-hand. Today, the Visual Effects Society (VES), the industry's professional global honorary society, named Chris Meledandri, acclaimed Oscar®-nominated producer and founder and CEO of Illumination, as the forthcoming recipient of the VES Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his valuable contributions to filmed entertainment. The award will be presented at the 17th Annual VES Awards on February 5, 2019 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” (edited by John Ottman, ACE) and “The Favourite” (edited by Yorgos Mavropsaridis, ACE) won Best Edited Feature Film (Dramatic) and Best Edited Feature Film (Comedy) respectively at the 69th Annual ACE Eddie Awards tonight where trophies were handed out recognizing the best editing of 2018 in 11 categories of film, television and documentaries.  The black-tie ceremony was held in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel with over 1000 in attendance to celebrate.  President of American Cinema Editors, Stephen Rivkin, ACE, presided over the evening's festivities with comedian Tom Kenny serving as the evening's host.

EPIX has greenlit Laurel Canyon, a feature-length documentary that will pull back the curtain on a mythical world and provide an up-close look at the lives of the musicians who inhabited it. Through a wealth of rare and newly unearthed footage and audio recordings, the documentary will feature an intimate portrait of the artists who created a music revolution that would change popular culture. Alison Ellwood (History of the Eagles) will direct the feature-length film, which will premiere in late 2019 on EPIX.

This week, the National Board of Review celebrated their 2018 honorees, with top awards including Green Book as Best Film of the Year, Bradley Cooper as Best Director of the Year for A Star is Born, Viggo Mortensen as Best Actor of the Year for his performance in Green Book, and Lady Gaga as Best Actress of the Year for her performance in A Star is Born. The 2019 Parkening International Guitar Competition, which will be held at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, between Tuesday, May 28, and Saturday, June 1, 2019, is now accepting applications. Applications may be submitted between now and Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 5 p.m. Applications will be accepted online through https://app.getacceptd.com/parkening.  

The judges for the fifth quadrennial Parkening International Guitar Competition, to be presented by Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, from Tuesday, May 28, to Saturday, June 1, 2019, have been announced.

Award-winning Writer/Producer/Director Dax Phelan (JASMINE) has acquired the screen rights to 'Now Solo' (2003), 'Broken Journey'(2006), and 'Polar First' (2008) by record-breaking American-born British aviatrix Jennifer Murray. Phelan will adapt the books and direct. The pic will be produced by Phelan and Eric M. Klein (JASMINE, HAPPY HOUR, THE YOUNG UNKNOWNS) via New SILK Road Entertainment and Hey Klein Pictures, and executive produced by Stratton Leopold (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III, PAYCHECK, THE SUM OF ALL FEARS). A search for a lead actress to play Murray is currently underway.
