Johnny Marr has announced UK headline shows for summer 2023, beginning 17th July at Holmfirth’s Picturedrome before taking in Lincoln’s Engine Shed (18th), Northampton’s Roadmender (20th) and the Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall (27th). The dates will continue through August including performances at Wrexham’s Rockin Chair (9th) and more.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Angelo De Augustine has announced his fourth studio album, Toil and Trouble. The album’s wonderful, cosmic lead single, “Another Universe,” is also out now alongside a fantastical claymation video, written/directed by De Augustine and fabricated/animated by Owen Summers.

This follows A Strange Loop, the Pulitzer Prize-winning new musical direct from Broadway with performances until 9 September and includes a world premiere from Belarus Free Theatre, UK premieres by Why Not Theatre, Eun-Me Ahn, Pam Tanowitz and David Lang, a cross-cultural festival curated by Inua Ellams, the return of Dance Umbrella andTold by an Idiot, and a line-up of exciting and experimental theatre makers in The Pit.

 The Firehouse Theatre has announced the cast and creative team of their upcoming production of Saturday Night Fever. This high-energy jukebox musical, starring Averie Bishop as Stephanie and Edward Michael Escamilla as Tony Manero, the role immortalized on film by a young John Travolta, successfully recreates the feel of the movie and manages to capture its spirit, dazzling with crowd-pleasing 70s anthems, disco dance moves, and a dash of good ol’ fashioned romance.

Veteran award-winning actor Ron Faber, whose Broadway appearances included “First Monday in October” with Henry Fonda and “Medea” with Irene Papas, died March 26 after a two-month battle with lung cancer. He was 90.

The Complete Edition of Dance Fever is a deluxe packaging of the band’s much-lauded 2022 album featuring “Mermaids” and poem versions of several songs from the LP. “Mermaids” was written and produced alongside album collaborator Dave Bayley of Glass Animals during the original Dance Fever sessions.

The latest new work from Houston writer, actor, and director Candice D’Meza is a multidisciplinary, immersive theatre piece that blends live performance, music, video, and omniscient cosmic forces to travel the future-telling visions and seizure-fever dreams of heroic abolitionist and conductor of the Underground Railroad, Harriet Tubman.
