Adrienne Barbeau created the iconic role of Rizzo in the original Broadway production of Grease- for which she secured a Tony nomination- went on to appear as Bea Arthur's daughter, Carol, in the hit TV series Maude- for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe- and is a best-selling author and recording artist. 

Tony and Golden Globe nominated stage and screen star Adrienne Barbeau has joined The World to Come, a fantasy audio series available on all podcast platforms. Ms. Barbeau joins a cast of veteran actors from the Broadway community (including Justin Sargent, Lana Gordon, and Marissa Rosen) and beyond for the series climax as Queen Gehenna.

SHOOTING STAR - A Revealing New Musical has partnered with Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS and Pineapple Support to release a music video featuring performers from the new musical's NYC workshops and Los Angeles production, along with cameos from stars of 'RuPaul's Drag Race' and the adult film industry. All of them have come together to showcase moments from SHOOTING STAR while aiming to raise much-needed funds to support performers - of all kinds - affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

 Iconoclast Theater Collective and David Treatman Creative today announced the release of THE WORLD TO COME, an epic new episodic musical saga available on all major podcasting platforms.

Mercury Theater Chicago announced today the cast and crew of the spectacular musical comedy PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, running in the Venus Cabaret Theater from March 20 through June 28.

GRINDR: The Opera puts the most notorious gay hook-up app into the exaggerated world of opera. With musical styles ranging from baroque to contemporary pop, GRINDR: The Opera is a daring, humorous look at the changing landscape of gay relationships, and the greatest catalyst for the shift. Though the opera lives in the world of parody, GRINDR: The Opera touches on some very serious, hot-button issues that exist in the gay community.

Casting has been announced for the upcoming New York City premiere of Leaving the Blues, a new play by Jewelle Gomez, directed by Mark Finley. Rosalind Brown (original Broadway productions of Footloose and One Mo' Time) will play the lead role of Alberta Hunter, the great American jazz singer and songwriter. The cast also features Michael Michele Lynch, Joy Suddath, Cooper Sutton, Benjamin Mapp, Ameerah Briggs, Tsebiyah Mishael Derry and Erik Ransom.

Pride Films and Plays will mount a fully staged production this summer of GRINDR THE OPERA (An Unauthorized Parody) - the satirical musical about the gay hookup app that changed the landscape of gay relationships. The musical was produced in the UK last year, in an extended, sold-out production at London's Above the Stag Theatre (the UK's only full-time professional LGBT+ theater), and won the 2019 Off West End Award (or OFFIE) for "Best New Musical" this past February. GRINDR THE OPERA, by New York-based composer-lyricist-playwright Erik Ransom, was an entry in the 2018 Chicago Musical Theatre Festival following staged readings in New York in 2015 and 2017 and a full production in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in fall 2017.

Broad Views on Broadway's 2nd Annual Summer Fresh Festival is set to present the world premiere staged reading of Erik Ransom's "Civil Blood (The Resurrection of Romeo)" which serves as a fantastical, tragicomic sequel to William Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet".

Shooting Star had two industry presentations this past week at Shetler Studios in Penthouse 1. The presentations were directed by Michael Bello (SUMMER), Music Directed by Alan Plado, Stage Managed by Ellie Handel, and General Managed by Evan Bernardin Productions.

Entertainment industry professionals are invited to attend a private industry presentation of Bran Castle, a new musical by Donald Nolan, on Thursday, June 21 at 11AM at Ford Studio at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street, between Dyer & 10th Avenues). Bran Castle is directed by Rachel Klein (Red Rose, Green Gold off-Broadway) and features musical direction by Andy Peterson (Atomic off-Broadway).
