Famed Mexican-born jazz vocalist Magos Herrera joins the genre-defying string quartet Brooklyn Rider (Johnny Gandelsman, violin; Colin Jacobsen, violin; Nicholas Cords, viola; and Michael Nicolas, cello), hailed as a?oethe future of chamber musica?? (Strings), for an unforgettable musical journey reinterpreting Latin classics from their 2018 recording, Dreamers, on Wednesday, October 10, 2019, in the Bram Goldsmith Theater at The Wallis. The album, on Sony Music Masterworks, features a collection of works from the Ibero-American songbook as well as pieces written to texts by Octavio Paz, Rubén Darío and Federico García Lorca and reimagined by such noted arrangers as Jaques Morelenbaum, Gonzalo Grau, Diego Schissi, Guillermo Klein and Brooklyn Rider's own Colin Jacobsen. These compelling works from Mexico, Cuba, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Argentina and Spain illuminate the essential role poets and songwriters play as dreamers, sharing their faith in humanity and generating hope. The Quality Rock & Roll Revue features soulful rock and roll songs from throughout Nick Lowe's careera?"including his biggest hitsa?"as well as selections from two recent EPs recorded with Los Straitjackets. Los Straitjackets provide backup for Nick as well as perform a short segment of their own instrumental surf guitar twangers.

To say that Alberta musician Leeroy Stagger's life journey has followed a strange path would be a bit of an understatement. A celebrated artist for nearly two decades and 10 years sober, he gained national attention with Hot Hot Heat and Carolyn Mark and has built a world class recording studio. A lush reflection of his life's evolution, Strange Path is the title of his newest album and book, due out September 13 via True North Records. August 1, 2019: The New York-based singer, songwriter and acclaimed pianist Jon Regen has released the title track to his forthcoming album Higher Ground out October 4 via Ropeadope. This morning, Forbes premiered the song, which features a cameo from his son Gabriel.

Running a small opera company requires innovation enough, but Washington's Urban Arias goes further, by commissioning new works, or finding pieces that are little known or rarely performed and infusing them with reliable company talent that can electrify their purposely small audiences.

It can certainly be said that a labor of love is not much of a labor at all, and with singersongwriter and guitarist Mark Newman's latest release “Empirical Truth” (Out TODAY July 12 via Danal Music) this is very much the case, as he's proven once again his power of true musicianship.

Photographer and revered long-time on-air radio personality Julie Kramer will uncover her new rock & roll photography exhibition The Basement Archives: The Ghosts of WFNX: Volume II, taking over Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) with over 100 portraits and live-concert images of celebrity musicians. The exhibition takes place at Boston Center for Adult Education, located at 122 Arlington Street, in Boston's Back Bay. The exhibition runs July 20 through December 20, 2019, and the opening reception, Saturday, July 20 from 4-8pm, is free and open to the public with reservation at https:bcae.orgeventrsvp. Limited edition signed photographs will be available for sale and the exhibition is on view during BCAE regular hours.

On July 26th, POP ETC will release Covers Collection, a selection of 21-reimagined songs that inspired the band throughout their career, including The Strokes' “Last Nite,”  The Beach Boys' “God Only Knows,” David Bowie's “Ashes to Ashes,” and many more. A new group of entertainment professionals in the categories of Motion Pictures, Television, Live TheatreLive Performance, Recording and Radio have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the full list was announced today, June 20, 2019 at 12:30 P.M. by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's Walk of Fame Selection Committee. The newest honorees were chosen from hundreds of nominations at a selection committee meeting held in June and will be ratified by the Hollywood Chamber's Board of Directors. Walk of Fameractresssinger Vanessa Williams, a committee member for the 2019-2020 Selection Committee, announced the new honorees with Rana Ghadban, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

KCRW and the Hammer Museum team up once again to present three free nights of live music and DJ sets as part of KCRW's Summer Nights, Thursdays, July 11, 18, and 25. This year's series features a stellar line-up of artists: Pavo Pavo, Wild Belle and the Tracks, as well as fierce live sets from KCRW DJs Anne Litt, Travis Holcombe, Aaron Byrd, Dan Wilcox, Jose Galvan and Scott Dallavo.

Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and celebrated guitarist Patrick Droney has released the official video for “Stand and Deliver.” With a cathedral-size chant and searing blues guitar solo, the breakout track garnered upwards of 100K streams in its first week, landed in the Top 10 on Spotify's U.S. Viral Top 50 chart, and earned Droney a recent performance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Black-Eyed Blues Fest will return to Bushnell Park in Downtown Hartford for its 20th year on Saturday, June 22nd from 3pm to 11pm. Produced by Black-Eyed Sally's Southern Kitchen & Bar in partnership with the Connecticut Blues Society, this free event will feature seven bands including Jaimoe's Jasssz Band, Christine Ohlman a.k.a. The Beehive Queen & Rebel Montez, and the five finalists of the CT Blues Challenge.

Corkscrew Theater Festival is pleased to announce the mainstage casts for its third annual festival, which runs July 10-August 3 at the Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street, Manhattan). The festival features four world premieres, four workshop productions, and four readings performed in repertory over four weeks, with 80 performances in all. As in past years, special attention has been given to theater makers who are developing work through tight-knit collaborations. Tickets are now on sale.

On the transcendent new album Hidden Corners, visionary keyboardist, producer and composer Jamie Saft embarks on a spiritual journey along the searching path unveiled by such iconic forebears as John and Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, and Albert Ayler. Inspired by concepts from Jewish mysticism, the album features an outstanding quartet of deeply exploratory musicians: Saft, longtime collaborator Bradley Jones on bass, the wide-ranging drummer/percussion master Hamid Drake, and legendary saxophonist David Liebman.
