Two River Theater has announced their unique and exciting summer education program for high schoolers called Opening Act. This summer program is designed for rising 9th- 12th graders during the weeks of July 19-23, July 26-30 and August 2-6.

The Broadway World Awards welcomes this new category this year, in an effort to cast some much welcome light on the artists who make the piano bars the fun and fabulous places that they are.

The Broadway World Awards for Cabaret have added some categories this year. This is one that we felt was really important... and just look at all the swell nominations!

New Jersey Theatre Alliance (a?oethe Alliancea??) is offering over 80 performances and programs for children and adults free-of-charge or at significantly discounted rates during its 23rd annual Stages Festival (a?oeStagesa??), a statewide event. Offerings include performances, workshops, readings of new plays, and participatory community discussions taking place at theatres, libraries, community centers, and other venues throughout the months of March, April, and May, 2020.

Presented by Crystal Fields, Executive Director of TNC and Glitter Kitty Theater, founded in 2011 by Emily Vetsch, Annie Now, and Jeff Davis, We Are All Starz features performers from far and wide distances and backgrounds, united on one stage for a three weekend celebration of original dance, theater, music, and puppetry.

Lear: That Old Man I Used To Know, a new play based on Shakespeare's King Lear, is currently in performances at A.R.T/New York Theatres - Gural Theatre - 3rd Floor (502 W. 53rd Street, between 10th and 11th) for a limited engagement through September 22. The opening is Sunday, September 8. Lear: That Old Man I Used To Know is adapted and directed by Beth Ann Hopkins (Enemy; The Tempest) with musical direction and arrangements by Elliot Roth (Our Sinatra; resident composer- Jeff Davis Dance), and is produced by Smith Street Stage.

Smith Street Stage will present its first full-length off-Broadway show in September with Lear's Shadow, an original adaptation by Ms. Hopkins of Shakespeare's King Lear. Directed by Beth Ann Hopkins with original music by Elliot Roth, Lear's Shadow will perform September 5th through 22nd at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theater at the A.R.T./New York Theatres on West 53rd St.

Four men from the staff of the world famous piano bar, Don't Tell Mama, are getting their act together and taking it to the back room! Tommy J Dose, Brian Kalinowski, Paul Pilcz, and Jon Satrom all met while working in the Piano Bar. Over the last couple of months, they've been collaborating with Musical Director, Elliot Roth, to put together an evening of music consisting of contemporary pop, standard Broadway and classic rock. The night will consist of creative mash-ups and harmonious new arrangements with staging by Sean Bernardi.

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) has announced the 2019 MAC Award nominees. The nominees, in a majority of the categories, were determined by votes cast by the active MAC membership. Special committees selected the nominees in the Ensemble Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Singing Entertainer (Female; Male), Recording (LaMott Friedman), Major Recording, Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories.

Smith Street Stage (Beth Ann Hopkins, founding Artistic Director), the award-winning Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn-based theatre company, announced its planned tenth season for 2019.
