Sylvie Courvoisier & Cory Smythe Release New Album 'RITE OF SPRING - SPECTRE D'UN SONGE'

With The Rite of Spring – Spectre d’un songe, two of contemporary music’s most vital and innovative pianists – Sylvie Courvoisier and Cory Smythe – interpret and converse with one of the 20th century’s landmark compositions. On this breathtaking new recording, released May 19, 2023 from Pyroclastic Records, Courvoisier and Smythe perform Igor Stravinsky’s striking two-piano rendition of his iconic Le Sacre du printemps (The Rite of Spring), followed by a bold new Courvoisier composition that draws inspiration from Stravinsky as a launchpad for investigatory improvisation.

Sara Toby Moore to Star in ATOMIC COMIC at Z Space Beginning Next Month

ATOMIC COMIC - A Human Cartoon Fantasia, written by and starring Sara Toby Moore will be performed beginning Friday, June 30, 2023, with an opening night scheduled for Saturday, July 1. Additional performances will be on July 6, 7, and 8, 2023 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) All shows will be at 8:00 pm.

UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture Dean Brett Steele has announced the appointment of Edgar Miramontes to the position of executive and artistic director of UCLA's Center for the Art of Performance (CAP UCLA), effective August 2023. Miramontes comes to CAP UCLA from REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater), a multidisciplinary center for innovative visual, performing, and media arts founded by California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where he has served as deputy executive director and curator since 2019, and associate director from 2013-2019.
