On the heels of the phenomenal success of The Lion King 3D - which will cross the $80 million mark at the domestic box office today - The Walt Disney Studios has announced limited theatrical engagements for four of its classic films for the first time in 3D. The following titles from Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios will be released in 2012 and 2013:

Triple-threat Nicolas Dromard seems to be on a roll. The stage version of the beloved Disney film is now in the middle of its four-week extended engagement in Orange County, California at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through August 7. Daniel Radcliffe, star of the Tony-nominated How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying and the beloved Harry Potter films, will serve as master of ceremonies as hundreds of students from middle and intermediate New York City Public Schools in Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Manhattan get their Broadway debut at the Shubert Foundation/MTI Broadway JR. Student Celebration at the Majestic Theatre (245 West 44th Street) on Monday, June 6th from 10:30 AM to noon. Each school will perform a song from their production of a student version of a classic musical, including Annie JR., Once on this Island JR., Seussical JR., Disney's Aladdin JR. and Guys and Dolls JR. A list of schools participating in the June 6th celebration follows.

Disney's THE LION KING at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas welcomed its one-millionth guest this weekend during 'Fan Appreciation Month' as part of its two-year anniversary celebration. Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 65th Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced May 3, 2011 by Tony Award winning actor Matthew Broderick and Tony Award winning actress Anika Noni Rose, at the Tony Award Nominations Announcement sponsored by IBM.

Co-hosts Thomas Schumacher, Producer and President of Disney Theatrical Group and Teri Schwartz, Dean of UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (TFT) were on hand last night, April 7 to honor Elizabeth Kubota Whitney at New York's historic New Amsterdam Theater. The private reception was to acknowledged Whitney's generous $750,000 gift to The Jeanne Michiko Kubota Scholarship for UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television. The scholarship is named in honor of Whitney's sister. Whitney started this scholarship to make a significant difference in a student's life, especially those suffering financially and having to put their dreams on hold. The endowment will fund the school's first four-year, full-ride scholarship for a theater undergraduate student.

Rehearsals have begun for the acclaimed new production of Tom Stoppard's ARCADIA, directed by five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux. The production will start previews Friday, February 25 and open Thursday, March 17 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street).
