Parsons Dance and Friends and Family of Howell Binkley have announced that Howell Binkley: A Celebration of Light and Love, a video tribute in memory of lighting designer Howell Binkley created by Suspension Productions, will be available for viewing beginning Sunday, October 25 at 8:00 PM ET.
Mirvish Productions mourns the death of Howell Binkley, one of the premier lighting designers in the world. He died August 14, 2020 in North Carolina, his wife, Joyce, told the Winston-Salem Journal. He was 64 and had lung cancer. In honour of Howell Binkley, the lights of the Royal Alexandra and Princess of Wales Theatre will be dimmed on 8/18.

There was $88k in scholarships awarded on 1/27 to nine dancers: $6,000 each to Megan Nee (FL), Kaitlyn Bien (IL) and Tyler Burden (NY); $8,000 each to Sophia Borgarello (TX), Carly Bocchino (FL) and Anna Bermudez (FL); $14,000 each to Kelis Robinson (Canada and Joey Gertin (Canada); and $18,000 to Sydney Revennaugh (FL). No stranger to the company, Ms. Josue transitions to her new post after nine seasons with Parsons Dance—more than a quarter of the company's life—having served as General Manager for the latter five years of her tenure.
Dance Lab New York (DLNY) has partnered with the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF) to provide a one-of-a-kind creative experience for an emerging choreographer. The residency will take place at The Pocantico Center in upstate New York this July, allowing the choreographer an opportunity to expand upon a prior week-long residency in June at the DLNY Summer Lab Cycle in the heart of Manhattan.
