One-off staged concerts are all the rage these days. A way for producers to attract established stars that will fill a room and the chance to test the waters for potential longer runs are only a few benefits. Realistically, they’re also cheaper, relatively risk-free, and easier to mount than a full-blown production. The latest in this type of venture is Bare, Damon Intrabartolo and Jon Hartmere’s musical with a troubled history.

BARE comes to the London Palladium on Sunday 7 April, in a one-night-concert. The full cast has been announced for this upcoming production, led by the previously announced Jordan Luke Gage as Jason, and Laurie Kynaston as Peter. Find out who else is joining the cast here!

For their 16th annual collaboration, Playhouse Square and Baldwin Wallace University join as one to present an original and innovative production, Bare. Performances will be held Friday, March 31st , through Sunday, April 2nd.

Bare: A Pop Opera, is a coming-of-age rock musical. The story focuses on a group of high school students at a private Catholic boarding school facing issues of sexuality, identity, and the future. As they struggle to come to terms with who they are, and who the world thinks they should be, they seek answers from their Church, their friends, and ultimately, from within themselves. Bare is a provocative, fresh, and utterly honest look at the dangers of baring your soul, and the consequences of continuing to hide.

Mid-World Players closes its 2021 season at The Found Theatre with Bare: A Pop Opera. A pulsating, electric contemporary rock musical, Bare follows a group of students at a Catholic boarding school as they grapple with issues of sexuality, identity, and the future. Peter and Jason have fallen in love with each other, but Jason -- a popular athlete -- fears losing his status if he is discovered to be gay.

Today we rewind to 2012 for the off-Broadway revival of Bare. Featuring music by Damon Intrabartolo and book & lyrics by Jon Hartmere, the revival was directed by Stafford Arima, choreographed by Travis Wall  and starred Jason Hite, Taylor Trensch, Elizabeth Judd, with Gerard Canonico, Jerold E. Actor-singer-dancer-choreographer Adam Fleming became a part of Broadway history originating the roles of Sketch in Hairspray and Lucas in Bare. In 2005, he starred in David Brind and Adam Salky's acclaimed short film, Dare, about two teenage boys' tense, spark-filled encounter in a pool following high school play practice. Dare gained a cult following as part of Strand Releasing's 'Boys Life' series and ultimately achieved worldwide popularity via more than 12 Million views on Youtube. The fan fervor (and fan fiction!) eventually inspired a sequel, ten years later. The original and the sequel are now being presented together as The Dare Project and attracting new legions of fans.

LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) today announces its spring season 2019, running from 5 February to 11 April at the drama school's West London campus. Directed by industry professionals, LAMDA's productions showcase graduating acting and technical students' talent as they prepare to embark on their professional careers.
