BroadwayWorld UK recently had the chance to speak with the stars of 2:22 A Ghost Story - Jaime Winstone (Jenny), Clifford Samuel (Sam), Sophia Bush (Lauren), and Ricky Champ (Ben) - about the show and what it has been like to be a part of the spooky story, including their own beliefs on ghosts and the supernatural!

The two become fast friends, but when Lyle’s existence is threatened by evil neighbor Mr. Grumps, the Primm’s must band together with Lyle’s charismatic owner, Hector P. Valenti, to show the world that family can come from the most unexpected places and there’s nothing wrong with a big singing crocodile with an even bigger personality.
It doesn’t help that director Matthew Dunster plays much of Danny Robins’ script for laughs when it could have been amping up some suspense. It would have been more cohesive and had a bigger impact if it hadn’t played as a comedy for most of its 2-hour run time, though it wouldn’t have been enough to make the story land.

Playwright Danny Robins’ 2:22 – A Ghost Story will have its U.S. premiere November 4, 2022 (with previews starting October 29th) at the Center Theater Group’s Ahmanson. Matthew Dunster directs the cast of four: Constance Wu, Anna Camp, Adam Rothenberg, and Finn Wittrock. I persuaded Finn to chat about 2:22, as well as reminisce on some of his career highlights.
Among the members who signed the statement of support for the CROWN Act are Audra McDonald, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kerry Washington, and dozens of other performers. In the letter, members assert, “Discrimination based on hair style or texture is a destructive practice that has alienated and caused irreparable harm to Black Americans.”
Filipino-Canadian singer-actor Darren Espanto does a cover song of Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Joriah Kwame’s “Top of the World” from the live-action and animation hybrid film “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile,” which is screening now in the Philippines.
Best known for their work on Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land, and The Greatest Showman, Pasek and Paul have written new original songs performed by Shawn Mendes, Javier Bardem, and Constance Wu, with contributions from Mendes, Ari Afsar, Emily Gardner Xu Hall, Mark Sonnenblick, and Joriah Kwamé.
