Digital Theatre+, the digital education service focusing on the study of the Performing Arts and English Literature, has signed a landmark deal to be the exclusive educational partner of BroadwayHD, the premiere streaming service for theater fans.

Audio drama podcast Playing on Air has announced its August 2020 mini-season, featuring four favorite short plays. After a successful spring season, Playing on Air brings back four audio gems.

On Saturday, August 1, Stars in the House's Plays In The House series will take on STICK FLY, by Lydia R. Diamond. The reading will star Jelani Alladin, Laura Benanti, Crystal Monee Hall, Keith Randolph Smith, Tiffany Rachelle Stewart, Daniel J. Watts and Renika Williams.

Coming off the release of her acclaimed single “hypotheticals,” singer/songwriter Sad Alex debuts her highly anticipated follow up, “Stockholm's A Ghost Town.”

Today we rewind to 2011, when Lydia R. Diamond's Stick Fly opened on Broadway. The play, which featured music by Alicia Keys, played for 93 performances at the Cort Theatre.

In lieu of their usual awards ceremony, the Drama League has created the Gratitude Awards this year. The Gratitude Awards, a one-time-only pre-recorded digital fundraiser, is set to air on Thursday, April 30 at 7:30pm EST. The Gratitude Awards is a large-scale kindness project designed to share the gift of gratitude from within the theater community, with NYC, and to all. The program will include vignettes from Friends of the Drama League, including Aaron Tveit, Adrienne Warren, Condola Rashad, Elizabeth Stanley, Idina Menzel, Jeremy Pope, Kelli O'Hara, Kristin Chenoweth, Marianne Elliott, Megan Hilty, Nathan Lane, and Sutton Foster and their respective nominees!

The Drama League and filmmakers Jeff Kaufman and Marcia Ross will premiere a special video tribute to Terrence McNally on April 30. McNally was set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for Unique Contribution to Theater.

Mario Cantone will host this year's Lucille Lortel Awards, which are being presented as a virtual broadcast and benefit for The Actors Fund on Sunday, May 3, at 7pm. The online event will bring together theatre performers, industry veterans, and fans worldwide in a celebration of Off-Broadway.

HBO Max announced today it will be crowning The Prince, created by Gary Janetti (Family Guy, Will & Grace), as the latest animated comedy series order for the streamer.
