After a wildly successful outing at the open-air venue in summer 2015, The New York Pops is proud to return to Queens with a full orchestra. BroadwayWorld.com can confirm Internet chatter that during the Muny run of HOLIDAY INN, numerous top New York and regional producers descended on the St. Louis venue to check out the show. Sources tell us that next steps have not been decided on for the tuner, but talks are underway for both potential Broadway and regional outings for the show.
Just last week, The New York Pops performed an inaugural concert at its new summer home, Forest Hills Stadium, with two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster, joined by former Broadway co-stars Colin Donnell and Megan McGinnis. Among other numbers, she performed John Denver's 'Sunshine on my Shoulders,' Cole Porter's 'I Get a Kick Out of You,' and will reprise her touching duet 'Flight' with McGinnis. Donnell will perform a duet with Foster, in addition to 'On the Streets of Dublin,' from Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's A Man of No Importance. The concert is sponsored by Morgan Stanley and Reed Smith.
