ABC's hit fall series “mixed-ish” and “Stumptown” have been given full-season orders, while “The Rookie” received a spring season pickup, Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment, announced today.

Artie Banks (guest star Donal Logue) gives Dex (Cobie Smulders) her 1500 hours for her private investigator's license to celebrate the two of them keeping a mom and baby together. The case taught Dex a lot about people and being a detective, and it helped Artie learn how to care about other people again.

Dex Parios – a strong, assertive and sharp-witted army veteran with a complicated love life, gambling debt and a brother to take care of – works as a PI in Portland, Oregon. With only herself to rely on, she solves other people's messes with a blind eye toward her own, finding herself at odds with the police and in the firing line of criminals.

Whether it's around the water cooler or on social media, the premiere everyone has been talking about so far is ABC's Stumptown, starring Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother, The Avengers). The show airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. A strong first episode is always important in ensuing a show's future in its early days. Shows get canned quickly, and if buzz is there from the very beginning, as it was when Stumptown first debuted this past week, it's a good indicator that the show will stick around for a while.
