Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) will conclude its 33rd season with the World Premiere of the new musical, DOGFIGHT, featuring music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, a book by Peter Duchan and directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello. Winner of the prestigious 2011 Richards Rodgers Award for Musical Theatre, DOGFIGHT will be performed at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd street) this summer. Producers Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and INFINITY Stages announced today that Tony Award nominee KERRY BUTLER (Xanadu) has joined the cast of the 2012 Broadway revival of Gore Vidal's THE BEST MAN in the role of Mabel Cantwell, a role that Edie Adams played in the film adaptation and later by Christine Ebersole in the 2000 Broadway revival. The addition of Butler marks the completion of principal casting for this star-studded theatrical event.

The production is an unprecedented account of the Federal District Court trial in Perry v. Schwarzenegger (now Perry v. Brown), the case filed by AFER to overturn Proposition 8, which eliminated the right to marry for gay and lesbian couples in California.
