Peninsula Players Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for David Lindsay-Abaire’s comedy, 'Ripcord.' “Ripcord,” which contains some adult language, runs July 27 through August 14 at the theater-in-a-garden and is generously sponsored by Tim & Jackie Danis.  

The season will open with Bruce Norris’ Tony, Olivier and Pulitzer Prize-winning “Clybourne Park,” directed by Kurt Naebig (Sept. 8 – Oct. 9).  It will be followed by Alan Ayckbourn’s feisty holiday comedy, “Season’s Greetings,” directed by Connie Canaday Howard (Nov. 17 – Dec. 18). With a nod to the Cleve Carney Museum of Art/MAC summer 2023 exhibition “Warhol,” BTE will complete the season with Vince Melocchi’s fictional play “Andy Warhol’s Tomato” directed by Steve Scott (Feb. 2 – March 5).

Shattered Globe Theatre is presenting a revival of Chicago writer Joel Drake Johnson’s Rasheeda Speaking, directed by SGT Associate Artistic Director AmBer D. Montgomery. This comedy-turned-social thriller about workplace racism will play through June 4, 2022 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood.

Alabama Shakespeare Festival will present the world premiere of Ricardo Khan's Freedom Rider in April.

New York Theatre Review calls it a “valentine to the heart and soul of the American suburbs.” There will be a Preview performance 8 p.m., Thursday, April 28. Press opening is 8 p.m., Friday, April 29. Performances run through May 29.

Two adjustments to the season schedule at Goodman Theatre shifts the 2021/2022 “Homecoming” Season line-up in the months ahead. The world-premiere production of Swing State by Rebecca Gilman directed by Robert Falls, previously announced for this spring, has been repositioned as this fall’s Owen Theatre opener.
