In celebration of International Women's Day, Disney on Broadway announces the lineup for the 2nd annual 'Women's Day on Broadway.'

Atlantic will present their Annual Gala on Monday, March 4, 2019 at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue).

In just 100 days, The American Theatre Wing will present the 73rd Annual Tony Awards, which are set to air on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, June 9, 2019 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT).

Verdi's tragic jester returns in Michael Mayer's neon-bedecked, Las Vegas-themed production. Baritones Roberto Frontali and George Gagnidze share the title role, and soprano Nadine Sierra reprises her portrayal of Gilda, the role that helped launch her now-blossoming Met career. Tenors Vittorio Grigolo and Bryan Hymel share the role of the lascivious Duke, and Nicola Luisotti conducts.

Music icon Cyndi Lauper attended a performance of The Cher Show this weekend on Friday, February 15th. She went backstage after the performance to meet cast members including Stephanie J. Block, Teal Wicks, Micaela Diamond and Jarrod Spector.

Producers Flody Suarez and Jeffrey Seller announced today that a new block of tickets for the Broadway production of the new musical The Cher Show goes on sale today at 10am ET. Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the second time this season and confirmed the eligibility status of ten Broadway productions for the 2019 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards.

Building on 40 years of producing powerful contemporary theatre, Studio Theatre is pleased to announce a new class of commissioned playwrights and directors to Studio R&D, its incubator to support the creation of new work from inception to first production. Incoming Studio R&D artists are playwrights James Fritz, James Ijames, Steph Del Rosso, and Emily Schwend, as well as directors Carl Cofield, Lila Neugebauer, and Eric Ruffin. These exciting talents from the US and UK will have Studio's full support in creating aesthetically diverse new work to be presented in future seasons and introduced into the international repertoire. As they create Studio-specific works, commissioned artists will visit Studio to get to know its theatres, programming, and audiences in person.

From this Friday 11 January the Australian premiere production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will begin releasing 40 tickets for every performance of the play for $40 per part. These tickets are known as the "Friday Forty" and are for some of the best seats in the theatre. They will be released each Friday for the following week's performances. Entries for the first Friday Forty are now open and close at 1:00PM AEDT on Friday 11 January.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will welcome a new Broadway cast currently in rehearsals to begin performances on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Lyric Theatre (214 West 43rd Street, NYC) following the final performance of the current cast on Sunday, March 17, 2019.

BroadwayCon has announced the Tony Award-winning Harry Potter and the Cursed Child cast has joined the BroadwayCon 2019 lineup. As part of the Spotlight series, the panel will feature Jamie Parker (Harry Potter), Noma Dumezweni (Hermione Granger), Paul Thornley (Ron Weasley), Poppy Miller (Ginny Potter), Sam Clemmett (Albus Potter), Alex Price (Draco Malfoy) and Anthony Boyle (Scorpius Malfoy), moderated by Melissa Anelli (Co-Founder of BroadwayCon and author of Harry, A History) on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 1:45 p.m.

I interviewed Diana Damrau when she had just done her first Violetta, her role debut in the Met's old Willy Decker production. It was a part she lusted over from the time she saw the 1982 Zeffirelli film, but was careful about taking on--waiting for the right time in her vocal development. That was nearly six years ago and the good news is that she has developed into a first-rate Violetta, sounding better than she has in some time, and looking every inch the glamorous (yet consumptive) courtesan.

In a cast with three Chers, Campayno plays the young bagel maker from Queens who could have been the love of the diva's life.

Tickets are priced from £15 per part and for every performance there are over 300 tickets at £20 or less per part.
